This vest is great with denim fabrics or can be made using repurposed, recycled jeans. You can sew or serge this skirt. Your choice. Required Pattern: Modern Silhouette Vest IJ986CR Indygo Junction You will need: Open and read pattern to get Fabric Yardage Requirements for your size. Determine yardage by measuring at the widest point and add at least 1” to this measurements for ease. Yardage will also depend on which length of vest you wish to make. Button for front closure, View A View A (even hemline) 1 ½ yards of fabric for all sizes View B (without ties) 1 5/8 yards of fabric View B (with ties cut on bias) 2 1/8 yards of fabric View C (Longer version) 2 ½ yards (44”/45”) or 2 yds (54’55”,60”)

Sewing machine (clean and in good order with a new 80/20 microtex needle, or denim needle) #10 or 10C foot and #1 foot Chalk marker Serger machine, if you wish to serge your vest Serger thread in your color choices (Make sure you test your thread for heat resistance. It will be visible on your garment, so you don’t want threads that could melt of not iron well) Bobbins wound with thread to match the fabric Thread to match your fabric color- Isacord is poly/cotton and stronger If serging: you could use decorative or contrasting threads to topstitch Sewing notions – pins, scissors, seam ripper, safety pins, etc.
Pre-Class Preparation:
Cut your vest pieces out prior to class. Have all your pieces cut and prepared to sit down and sew. If you have questions prior to class, please come into the store and we will happily help you with any questions or assist you with pattern cutting. You may also call the teacher, Charlene at 465-0956 prior to class. Sewing supplies: Machine in cleaned and oiled working order, brush to clean your machine, machine oil, bobbins, foot pedal, cord, slide on table, thread, 80/12 needles, pins, small scissors to trim threads, seam ripper.

CLASS POLICIES 1. Registration can be made in person, by mail or telephone. 2. A deposit of at least 50% is required at the time of registration for class. 3. Please remember, respect others by not using cell phones in class and do not wear perfume or scented lotions in class. 4. Phone reservations accepted with credit card payment only. 5. Each class has a minimum student requirement. The Sewing Palace reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class due to lack of enrollment. Every effort is made to fill the class, but if the class has to be cancelled we will notify you in advance and refund your money with a store credit. 6. We commit to our teachers and ask your commitment in return. Teachers spend a lot of time preparing for classes; therefore, class fees are not refundable if you do not attend a class that is not cancelled. 7. Classes begin at the scheduled times. Please feel free to come in 15 minutes early to set up your supplies so class can start on time. 8. Class supply lists should be picked up when you register. Books and patterns that are required for class must be purchased to prevent copyright violations. 9. The Sewing Palace would like to thank you for taking classes with us. A 15% discount if given on class supplies when you sign up and pay your registration fee. This discount for supplies for this one class will be given through the day of class. 10. Several classroom machines are available on a first come-first served basis. Let us know at the time of registration if you need to reserve one. 11. Cell phones are not permitted in any of our classes, clubs or lectures. Please be respectful of the teacher and other students by putting them on vibrate if you are expecting an urgent call. The store number may be left with your family for emergency calls 443-5724. 12. Class registration fee allows one person to attend. Please no children or visitors in class.
CLASS FEES ARE REFUNDABLE WITH A 3 DAY ADVANCE NOTICE. Thank you for your compliance with our policies. Please review your supply list and make sure you bring the listed items. Feel free to ask questions if you are unfamiliar with an item listed on your supply list. If you have registered for a sewing class you should bring basic sewing supplies.
