Supply List: Spring & Summer Word Art Wall Hanging Embroidery Club March 2016
Notions and Fabric: • Embroidery machine with a 6x10” (260x160) or larger embroidery hoop: designs for the 6x10 “and 8x12” embroidery field are available. • Floriani Chrome Embroidery needle size 75/11 • Fabrics for project: • 1 rectangle 15x21” Good quality 100% cotton solid or near solid for embroidery background( if your embroidery hoop is larger than 8x12” (200x300mm) you may need a bigger piece of fabric) • 2 strips 3” by WOF (44/45”) good quality 100% cotton solid or print for border • 5/8 yard print for backing and binding. Directional prints are not recommended • 1 piece batting at least 20x27”. I recommend Floriani Embroidery Batting. • Embroidery thread: I used the following colors: Dark Pink, Lime Green, Yellow, Golden Yellow, Grass Green, Sky Blue, Raspberry, Dark Sapphire Blue, Purple, Light Baby Pink, Bright Light Green • Terial Magic • Fabric Marker
• Floriani No Show Fusible Mesh Stabilizer • Floriani Stitch n Wash tear a way Stabilizer • Scissors and thread nips • Rotary cutter and ruler Please treat your embroidery background fabric with Terial Magic prior to coming to class. Simply spray it onto the fabric like you would a spray starch. (The sprayer has a Stream and a Spray setting. Use the spray setting) Use a couple of coats: iron the fabric between coats. The fabric should have lots of body, but doesn’t need to be ‘stand on its own’ stiff. Here are the other designs you will receive in class:
