SUPPORTING: Laguna Beach Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach provides year-round shelter and rehabilitation to homeless adults. Volunteers are crucial to the success of this ministry. South Shores is joining with our community to support the compassionate work in Laguna Beach to serve the less fortunate among us. Please consider, as individuals or small groups, the opportunities listed below to volunteer your time and gifts. You can also visit www.friendshipshelter.org for other ways to help. 1. “Snacks On-the-Go Ministry” ~ provides snacks and encouragement for the homeless who must leave the shelter during the day before returning for their evening meal and shelter for the night. Snack Bags are available in our church office for church members interested in helping the homeless within their communities and for those who come to the church seeking help. A SUGGESTED DONATION LIST IS AVAILABLE ON THE BACK OF THIS LETTER, ON THE PANTRY TABLE, IN THE CHURCH OFFICE OR AT http://www.southshores.org/support 2. On each 5th Saturday of the calendar year, we invite you to join a team that will prepare dinner and serve it to 70 homeless guests at the Friendship Shelter. Future Dates: Oct. 31st, 2015 ~ 2016 dates: Jan. 30th, April 30th, July 30th, Oct. 29th, and Dec. 31st. For more information please contact Patti Fehervari at [email protected] or 714-423-0036 3. The shelter needs larger items than South Shores can store, this includes: Men and Women’s clothing, shoes, Costco sized cleaning supplies and more (also listed on the back). They can also use teams to deliver prepared sandwiches for lunches and people to help with Bingo and game nights.
