EFFECTIVE APRIL 1st, 2012 It is recommended that swimming take place in the official designated swim beach area; however, swimming is also permitted in three designated No Wake areas (see map) Swimming is permitted in the North No Wake Area, East No Wake Areas 1 and 2 (see map) areas from sunrise to sunset. Swimming is prohibited everywhere else, except the designated Boyd Lake Swim Beach. Additional safety precautions while swimming such as: wearing life jackets, using a flag to indicate people in the water, use of a “spotter” to watch for hazards or other boats, and staying close to a boat or shoreline are all recommended, but are not required. All persons under 13 years old must wear a life jacket when on a boat unless the boat is anchored/moored. Boyd Lake State Park will continue to provide the designated, water tested, roped, and buoyed Swim Beach for those who wish to swim from shore in a “Natural Swim Area”. Most of the shoreline along these areas is private – Do not trespass All NO WAKE areas have a 5 MPH Speed Limit - strictly enforced
