System Test Technical Writer Bangalore, India Department Description This opening is for the new R&D center in Bangalore INDIA. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations This is a mid-level engineering/technical position in Cambium Networks’ wireless systems Global Systems Integration & Test team. This candidate will be expected to do the following:
Engage in understanding box & system level requirements & design, creating technical documentation against these designs in an easily understandable format for Cambium customers. Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals. Explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language. Review TRDs, whitepapers and feature briefs to understand new features implemented in the product Work hands-on with the product to understand how it’s designed, how the features work to aid with the technical documentation. Be able to define and implement test cases and execute the tests on the product to obtain a deeper understanding. Participate in Engineering meetings, especially SIT/QA meetings to be in the loop on changes happening on the product. Meet with technical leads, PLM and project managers involved with the developing Cambium products to establish technical specifications. Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to document them in Customer facing manuals. Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson. Prepare charts, graphs, or forms to go along with rough drafts. Ensure fields flow in the correct sequence. Create table of contents and cite sources. Submit copies to engineers, leads and managers for review and feedback. Adjust copy as necessary and proofread for grammar and spelling. Follow the life cycle of the release to ensure all aspects specific to the release are captured in the corresponding customer documents. Release the document following final approval.
The candidate should have knowledge of RF/HW architecture of wireless systems and high level knowledge of 802.16d/e, LTE, or 802.11 standards. Knowledge of RF, involving wireless technologies such as OFDM, WiMAX, 802.11 a/b/g/n, 3GPP etc is a must. Knowledge of L2/L3networking standards to test wireless L2 and L3 devices that fit into

Specific Knowledge/Skills
5-8 years of RF and networking test engineering experience including protocol testing, wireless systems test resulting in the successful delivery of quality wireless products Basic understanding of radio RF/HW architecture. Demonstrate proficiency with RF principles, devices and measurements, including (but not limited to) transmit power, receiver sensitivity, Modulation Coding Schemes etc. Understanding of RF propagation, fading and antenna characterization experience is a plus. Knowledge of RF involving wireless technologies such as OFDM, WiMAX, 802.11 a/b/g/n, 3GPP etc. Knowledge of L2/L3 networking standards to test wireless L2 and L3 devices that fit into various existing LAN and WAN networks is also desired. Familiar with network protocol layers and how they interact. Knowledge or experience with tools such as IPERF, IXIA traffic generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, attenuators, signal generators etc .is a plus. Must possess good analytical skills and ability to identify new experiments to help root cause failure modes. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with team members and co-workers. Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of engineering professionals and successfully build productive relationships. BS/MS in EE, CE, CS, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
