Beginning this week, we will highlight one of our 2015 graduating Seniors in The Talon. We will feature information that will help you get to know these wonderful students a little better.
Hannah Bentsen Hannah Nicole Bentsen
has been a student at Texoma Christian School since second grade. While at TCS, she has participated in basketball, softball, volleyball, National Honor Society, and school mission trips. Some of Hannah’s favorite memories of her days at TCS include winning State in basketball her sophomore year, going to State in softball, all the sports trips, mission trips to New Mexico and San Antonio, the Colonial Day battle and the junior trip to Washington D.C. Outside of TCS, Hannah enjoys hanging out with friends and spending time with her family. Hannah explained that TCS has impacted her both academically and spiritually. TCS has given her the opportunity to excel in the classroom and in her walk with God. “Every class you enter not only pushes you to improve your studies, but also gives you a spiritual aspect for everyday life. TCS wants us to do well in our studies, but more importantly grow in our faith daily.” Hannah’s parents, Dave and Julie Bentsen and Coach Mark Ellison have played a special role in her life throughout her school years. She said, “My parents have helped me since day one in everything I do. They are always there to encourage me and help me with any struggles that may arise. They both support me academically, spiritually and athletically. They have made me the person I am today and I thank them for that. Also, Coach Ellison has always supported me, as well as the team, in everything. He is the best coach anyone could ask for and always gives us his everything without anyone asking him to. He pushes the team to be better not only in sports, but in our everyday life as well.” Hannah also said she was thankful for all of the teachers that impacted her. Since her first day at TCS in second grade, she has been accepted and welcomed by all of her teachers and classmates that she has had. These past four years of high school have been some of the best moments of her life so far. She plans to continue those close friendships even after graduation. Following high school, Hannah would like to attend either Oklahoma Baptist University or Oklahoma Christian University and major in nursing. Hannah’s advice to future high school seniors is, “Don’t take the time you have for granted. High school goes by a lot faster than you would expect. So, make sure you create good friendships and enjoy the time that you have left. Make memories that you will never forget and look forward to the future.”
