Teacher Guide to Report Cards Before Entering Report Card Grades 1. On the “Active Classes” screen, select “Settings” on the left.

2. Review the settings for grade level and subject area for each class. When you are finished, click “Submit.”

Entering Report Card Grades 1

1. Login to your teacher account. Hover over “Apps” and select “Report Cards.”

2. Click “View Classes” next to the grade level you teach.

3. Click on the class you would like to enter grades for.

4. Click on any student’s name to bring up his/her report card. 2

5. Each field on the report card will be color-coded, and each color corresponds to how the data in each field was obtained:     

Green = Imported from Engrade* Pink = Manually input by teacher (you) Yellow = No data White = Locked field Blue = Recently updated by another teacher

*Green fields may only appear for the student information at the beginning of your report cards.

6. You can enter data into any of the boxes (except the locked white fields) and doing so will turn those boxes pink. You can also overwrite data in any box; however, the original data will be replaced by whatever you enter into the box.

7. Click “Save” once data is entered for a student. To navigate to the report cards of other students in your class, you can click “Previous Student” or “Next Student.” Additionally, in Google Chrome or Safari browsers, you can 3

click the “Zoom” buttons to enlarge or shrink your view of each report card. In Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, you can do this within the browser.

8. When you have finished entering grades, click “Back to Students.”

9. You can click the button labeled “Incomplete,” and the button will change to “Complete.” Selecting “Complete” alerts your administrator that your report cards are ready to print. Please note, your report cards are not locked when marked “Complete,” and you can easily go back to modify any report card, if necessary. (If you hit the button on accident, or decide to go back and make changes, you can click the button again to set it back to “Incomplete.”)

Viewing and Printing Report Cards 4

1. Login to your teacher account. Hover over “Apps” and select “Report Cards.”

2. Mark the checkbox next to the class you wish to generate report cards for, and click the “Create” button.

3. Clicking “Create” will generate a downloadable PDF of your report cards. You will be redirected to a page that tells you your report cards are generating. (This takes approximately 60 seconds.)

4. When the report cards have finished generating, you will see a few options available. Click “Download PDF.” 5

5. Depending on your browser, you may be prompted to “Keep,” “Save” or otherwise open the PDF.

6. Open the PDF, and review your report cards. If you find any errors, you will need to fix those errors on your report cards in Engrade (Steps 1-7, in “Entering Report Card Grades”) and re-generate your report card PDF (Steps 1-4, in “Viewing and Printing Report Cards”). 7. Once you are satisfied with your report cards, you can print them by clicking “File” and selecting “Print” from the drop down menu.
