Team Managers

Team Managers play a vital role in the success of individual teams.

You are the team’s representative and a liaison between the team/coach and parents.

Background Screening Background screening is an important element of the SafeSport Program. Each coach, volunteer or employee who has regular, routine or frequent access to youth participants must have a background screening completed. www.pvaha.org

Team Manager Binders • Each club/team has different requirements. Please ask your club what they require. Team Roster This is the official roster (1-T form certified by USA Hockey). If a player is added to the roster, a supplemental roster will be sent. Changes may be made to the roster until 12/31. You will need these rosters, particularly at tournaments. Penalty box attendant: • Must be over the age of 18 • Must not be suspended player or coach • Must not “coach” from the box • Must not engage on-ice officials • Door does not open until the clock reads 0:00

#6: Coach’s Signatures / Referee’s Name: • Head coach from each team signs the score sheet after the game • Referee writes name and signs score sheet after the game #7: Game Notes/Game Tally: • Check marks as goals are scored for each team to be added up and recorded in Final Score box at end of the game. For CBHL, no need to record player that scored.

#3: TEAM LINEUPS Both teams MUST have stickers (No handwriting in roster) Sticker must include: 1. Players name and jersey number (line through those not playing or suspended – write “SUSP” next to name of suspended player(s) or coach(es) 2. Coaches name, CEP and level for all coaches on the bench 3. Manager’s name and email (for contact info)

#4: Scoring Records After a goal is scored, the official will skate over to you and give you the jersey numbers for the players that scored the goal and assists

Record: • TYPE (in margin on score sheet for reference) “E” Evenhanded, “P” Powerplay, “S” Shorthanded, “O” Open Net Goal • PER Period 1, 2 or 3 • TIME Time on clock when goal is scored • TEAM “H” home team scored; “A” away team scored ** • SCORER Goal scorer (from official only) • ASSIST Assists (from official – if only one is given, draw line through second box

#5: SHOTS ON GOAL Check box each time a shot is made. Shots are defined as a puck going in the net if the goalie was not there. Stops by goalie that are wide of net are not shots, for example. At the end of each period, fill out the SHOTS ON GOAL for home and away teams. Total at the end of the game. Note time and name when (if) goaltender change and number of shots per goaltender. Hint: At the end of the period put an X or a slash through the last goal box in order to know where shots for next period started

#5: (Continued) SCORING SUMMARY: At the end of each period, fill out the number of goals for each team. Total at the end of the game. GOALTENDING SUMMARY: Fill in the goalie number, last name, minutes played, shots on net and goals against at the end of the game. TIME OUTS: Fill in period number and time on clock if time out is used

NO.: Jersey number of player MIN: Minutes to be served PENALTY: From official’s signal and description PER: Period penalty served (if overlaps into two periods, record the period the penalty began) • TIME OFF: Time on clock when the penalty is called and player goes into penalty box (time the player gets off the ice) • TIME ON: Time on clock when player returns to ice (may be earlier if goal is scored) Note: If 2 and a 10, each one gets put on a line, not together. The “10” does not start until the “2” is over.

#7: STATISTICS ATTESTED BY: a. REFEREE: to be signed after game by all officials on ice b. SCORER: person who filled out score sheet’s name and signature c. COACHES: coaches to sign after game #8: SUSPENDED PLAYERS/COACHES:

To be filled out if the home or away team had a suspension from previous game. The Coach is not to be on the bench, locker room or have contact with players if they are suspended. The player is also not to have contact. Someone may sign for them that they are not at the game.
