ILEAD USA’s “Team What’s Good” has developed a community engagement project that will encourage teens to promote positive community happenings through social media. The team will create a presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag for each individual community under the main umbrella of #WHATSGOODPA. Photo stations and props will be provided at the libraries to encourage teens to participate and share what they like about their community. Libraries will also offer training and assistance to teens on how to create accounts, post to social media platforms and maintain digital safely. It is our hope that this project will help engage teens with the library and create a social media movement towards positive promotion of PA communities and all of the wonderful things we have to offer!
Team What’s Good - Project Project Kick Off: October 2016
The Problem:
Objective:
A lack of positive engagement—particularly among teens—in each of our communities.
The libraries will serve as a safe and fun place for teens to take photos in our photo booths and post their photos and comments to social media using special hashtags.
Teens often post negatively on social media about their community.

Teen frustration with their ability to enact positive change in their community. Hypothesis: Encouraging teens to speak out more positively through readily available socialmedia platforms will start to change the narrative in our communities.
The hashtag #WhatsGoodPA will be showcased to encompass all of the good things that exist in communities all across the state of Pennsylvania. Each individual community, will use the additional hashtags: #WhatsGoodErie #WhatsGoodScranton #WhatsGoodEmmaus #WhatsGoodEastStroudsburg #WhatsGoodYourNameHere
