TEEL CAMPUS STUDENT PARKING REGISTRATION, POLICIES & PROCEDURES SENIORS & JUNIORS Seniors and juniors are permitted to drive to school and park in the student parking lot on campus if they have registered their vehicles with the Upper School office and have a parking tag issued by the School. SOPHOMORES Due to the limited parking spaces, sophomores who are eligible to drive to school must get special permission to park on campus from the Upper School Dean of Students and must have a parking tag issued by the School. PLEASE NOTE The School reserves the right to provide limited or no student parking on campus based on events
that arise. These limited parking times will be announced when necessary. Cars are off-limits during the school day (8:00 a.m. – 2:35 p.m.), unless the student has permission
from the Upper School Head or the Upper School Dean of Students. Having a school-issued parking tag does not guarantee a parking spot. Rather it proves that a
student is authorized to park in campus if he/she can find an open space within student parking areas. Each Severn family is only granted one permit. Families may seek permission to obtain an additional
parking permit from the Upper School Dean of Students. Severn strongly encourages car-pooling
The privilege to drive to school and park on campus may be suspended or revoked for serious breaches of our expectations, such as: Excessive or repeated tardiness Reckless driving Failure to park in assigned areas Driving off campus during the School day without permission

TEEL CAMPUS PARKING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES 2016 - 2017 POLICIES
Due to existing agreements with Anne Arundel County and our neighborhood community, parking on Severn’s Teel Campus is very limited. All drivers are strongly encouraged to follow the procedures outlined to minimize problems with parking and traffic on campus. The School reserves the right to provide limited or no student parking on campus based on events that arise. These limited parking times will be announced when necessary. SAFETY is the most important consideration at all times, but especially at arrival and dismissal times and after athletic/special events on campus. Please refrain from talking on cell phones and texting while driving. All students, regardless of grade level, who live a reasonable distance to the campus are encouraged to walk or ride a bike to school. All Severn families/students are encouraged to carpool or have only one vehicle per Severn family parking on campus for a regular school day (i.e. siblings may not drive separately and take two spaces). ONLY students who have registered their vehicles with the Upper School office and are provided a parking tag are authorized to park in the student parking areas. Students must display the school-issued parking tag from the rear-view mirror of their car. There shall be NO PARKING behind McCleary Student Center or on the access road behind this building. There is NO PARKING in the reserved Visitor Parking in front of Teel Academic Center and by the Boone House, closest to the Buildings & Grounds facility.
TRAFFIC FLOW
Water Street is one-way traffic (west to east) from Maple Avenue to Holly Avenue every school day from 7:00 until 8:30a. and again from 2:30 to 3:30p. Please enter campus at the Maple Avenue entrance for ALL pickups, including those after athletic events. Please do not block MAPLE AVENUE by creating two lanes turning into Water Street as you drop-off or pick-up your passenger(s). Safety, patience, and courtesy are required as one maneuvers around our crowded campus roadways. Please refrain from talking/texting on cellular phones in the pick-up and drop-off lines.
ATHLETIC/SPECIAL EVENTS
Do NOT block anyone’s driveway or vehicle or, of course, emergency lanes and entrances. NO double-parking, especially on Maple Avenue. Please follow event parking directions/signage. Remember: Safety must be foremost in all our minds. Please use caution and courtesy on campus and in our neighborhood.
