This will be a Single Elimination Tournament. Games will be held Saturday, and Sunday at Templeton Middle School Gym (TMS) or Templeton High School Gym (THS). Please read the brackets carefully! Each game will consist of 4 eight-minute quarters. In an effort to keep the schedule running on time, please do your best to clear the court and team areas as soon as possible after your game. This includes the trash and water bottles. In an effort to keep schedule running on time mid-quarter substitutions need to be executed quickly. Please have your mid-quarter subs report to the table at the 5:00 minute mark and we will get them in as close to the half-way mark (4 minutes) as possible. a. A coach that fails to have their substituting players report to the score table by the 4:00 mark may be denied the opportunity for substitution. Only 1 coach per team is allowed to stand at any given time, and that coach must stay within the coach box (use the lines of the “sideways courts” as your guide). This rule will be strictly enforced by the referee’s. a. 1st infraction is a warning. 2nd infraction is a bench technical. 3rd infraction will result in an automatic forfeit. The full-court press may only be used in the 4th quarter, and only as long as the team pressing is not up by 10 points or more. a. 1st infraction is a warning. 2nd infraction is a bench technical. 3rd infraction will result in an automatic forfeit. This is a RECREATIONAL TOURNAMENT! All other regular season rules for Templeton Youth Basketball apply, including individual playing time expectations. The purpose of this tourney is to give the kids to tournament-style game play, NOT TO WIN AT ALL COSTS! Positive sportsmanship starts in the stands and on the benches. All spectators and coaches will be held to the same standards as the children playing the game. Poor sports will be escorted to the parking lot, where their negativity will not interfere with the ability of those around them to enjoy the children’s game.
