TerraCycle’s 2011 Summer Internship Program Seeking Interns to Join the Operations & Waste Logistics Department About TerraCycle: TerraCycle is a global leader in recycling and upcycling—turning difficult-to-recycle waste into affordable eco-friendly products. As a rapidly growing company with expanding logistics and operations, TerraCycle’s Operations Department is seeking motivated interns to join our dynamic team in our main office in Trenton, NJ, and become involved in a full range of projects that best represent the inner workings of the company’s operations. About the Internship: The Operations Internship is a ten week rotational program from Monday June 6 –Friday August 12, 2011, that will allow each intern to gain valuable hands-on experience within the different areas that make up the department. Interns will spend approximately two weeks in each area of focus, outlined in detail below. The length of the internship can be customized, and college credit and recommendations will be offered upon successful completion of the internship. The internship is unpaid but daily catered lunches will be provided. Qualifications: We seek individuals who can easily adapt to our fast-paced environment and show the necessary focus to complete projects in a short amount of time while maintaining the initiative and independence to complete other tasks that may not necessarily have rigid guidelines or a set deadline. Applicants must be enrolled in college or graduate school (all areas of study welcome), or have equivalent professional experience. Supply Chain Logistics & Brigade Collections: Learn how TerraCycle works directly with 100+ factories and millions of consumers across the US and the world to divert millions of pounds of pre and post consumer waste from landfills. Learn the logistics behind where the waste goes, how the waste is shipped and why. Work with managers to identify strategic improvements that reduce cost structures and contribute to the development and pricing of new Brigade collection programs. Assist with the behind the scenes research for new Brigade collection programs Assist with the logistics of shipping goods via all modes: truck, parcel, intermodal, ocean rd Analyze 3 party warehouse and shipping mode usage and cost structures Work with purchasing agents to procure materials Intern benefit: understanding of logistics and shipping industries, experience in supply chain management, procurement, cost management and pricing models

SAP Business Software/Database Management: Gain experience in the day to day operation of a world class business management system and learn how it is used as a tool for the efficient and effective

management of all company data and transactions. Assist with purchases and sales, inventory tracking, creating and publishing customized reports, and learn how all company information comes together to help the senior team strategically manage the international company-wide operational budgets and goals. Enter purchase orders, track goods, create sales orders Assist with the creation of work orders and bills of materials Help produce database reporting for inventory usage and sales Analyze data reports to help manage ongoing purchasing budgets Intern benefit: experience in SAP Business Management software, Microsoft Access & Excel, database forecasting, budgeting & reporting 3.

Environmental Health & Safety Compliance (EH&S): Help ensure that TerraCycle’s operations are compliant with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations. Understand how the collection, transportation, storage, handling, and disposal of each of TerraCycle’s waste streams is regulated and work along with the compliance team to develop the necessary procedures for operational compliance. Investigate regulations governing possible new waste streams Organize, publish and present research findings to Operations team Assist with the updating, auditing and publishing of existing SOP’s (standard operating procedures) Intern benefit: experience in regulatory research, industry standards, public administration, environmental health and safety policy, municipal government interaction, risk assessment and risk management

Inventory and Warehouse Management: Learn how Terracycle monitors all pre-consumer, postconsumer, work in process and finished goods that it collects or manufactures and the transactional process for moving them in and out of inventory locations. Understand the detailed processes for receiving shipments, creating, recording and controlling the movement of materials and products that are collected and subsequently recycled or upcycled into new products. Also learn procedures for selfauditing inventory and safe, efficient warehouse operations. Create and issue orders for transfers or shipment of goods Create receiving reports, participate in warehouse audits Perform inventory tagging and put-away in zone locations Intern benefit: experience in inventory management, warehouse management, material handling, procedures and protocol, process efficiencies, record keeping

Special Projects: Work on the many up-and-coming projects that TerraCycle has yet to reveal to the public and help drive collection rates for our existing Brigade programs. Retail Collection – Develop Brigade collection programs with national retail partners New and Innovative Waste Collection Programs - Launch collection programs that encompass a wide range of waste that can be collected at homes and/or businesses Business to Business Development – Work on solving for new waste streams in existing markets Consumer Engagement - Work with Customer Service and develop new strategies to engage existing Brigades to drive collections across all waste streams
