It is the 3rd largest retailer in the world with operations in 14 countries and more than 3,700 locations. They operate hyper marts, grocery stores, convenience stores and gas stations and have more than 400,000 employees worldwide.

BUSINESS CHALLENGES Tesco wanted to allow for the increased growth of their operations and to be able to service those operations regardless of country or location with the same effectiveness.

SOLUTION APPROACH Verisae provided a hosted enterprise application for the complete lifecycle management of their maintenance and service automation across all sites within their estate. Technical Situation Tesco wanted to migrate from an existing internal, server based platform with questionable data quality to a web-hosted application which could scale with their business needs and work in multiple countries. Tesco’s platform only allowed for some internal staff to access and uses the system on a day to day basis. Verisae also provided web services integration with Tesco’s accounting software provided by SUN.

BENEFITS & RESULTS Tesco has seen numerous benefits of the Verisae application over the past three years. Amongst the financial benefits has been a significant reduction in full time equivalents to manage the paper process associated with their service work flow. That work has been automated and transferred to the more than 300 external service providers and more than 700 internal technicians now able to use the application wherever they might be located. This improved the data quality and the number of reject work orders that did not get processed. Tesco has also seen the ability to leverage the application across wide geographic and language disparities from the United Kingdom to Thailand. That has resulted in a faster and more accurate reporting of outstanding work, outstanding and not yet invoiced work and other metrics. Verisae’s survey teams identified many inaccuracies in the data quality of the assets on hand and the subsequent correction of those asset registries. This has resulted in significant savings in tax depreciation as well as a reduction in associated maintenance costs.
