This checklist includes all the steps you need to optimize each of your product listings. Make sure you've completed your shop's about section and you've completed your shop's policies using Etsy's template. Research 2-4 word keyword phrases that buyers might use to find your listings. Enter these keyword phrases in the Etsy search bar to determine how competitive they are. Aim to find phrases that have less than 2,000 products competing with a few that are more competitive. Fill your titles full of the keyword phrases you found and use as much of the space provided as possible. Separate the keyword phrases with dashes or commas. Use title case for a professional look. Figure out which keyword phrase a buyer is most likely to use and put that keyword phrase at the front of your title. Etsy will give you a boost for this phrase. Also, make sure all of your listings have different keyword phrases at the front of each title so that you're not competing with yourself. Create 13 tags based on the keyword phrases added to your titles. Make sure the words are in the same order in your titles and your tags where possible. If a keyword phrase is too long to fit, break it into two or three tags. Ex: blue starfish necklace could be turned into these tags: blue starfish, starfish necklace and blue necklace. Fill out the item attributes section for each product. These impact the search results in a similar way to the keyword phrases in the titles and tags.
