To: From: RE: Protection Incident On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, I was working protection duties at Vince Young Steakhouse in Downtown Austin. The Protectee and his party were seated in a private room of the steakhouse. The restaurant manager seated a group of three men at the table just outside the private room. One of the men (later identified at State Representative Boris Miles of Houston) was conducting himself in a loud and obnoxious manner. Observing Rep. Miles actions and hearing his loud tone, he appeared to be intoxicated. I overheard another one of the men say something about, “the Governor here.” At which time the Rep. Miles abruptly stood up turned around from his chair and tried to enter the private room. I was seated in the booth near the door. When I saw Rep. Miles make a move for the door, I stood up grabbed his arm to divert his attention to me and told him he was not allowed to go into the room. I then positioned myself between him and the door. At this point, Rep. Miles became belligerent with me using excessive profanity. Rep. Scott Turner who was a part of the dinner party opened the door and stated he knew the Rep. Miles and that he would take care of it. Rep. Turner got Rep. Miles seated back at his own table and attempted to talk him down. Rep. Miles continued on with the profanity towards me and threatened to beat me up. In an effort to help the situation I stepped away from the table to call my supervisor. continued to keep an eye of the Miles Party. While on the phone I saw Rep. Miles and his party leave the restaurant.
