RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AIS continuously develops its services and technology for its most important customers, for instance, 3GSM advance which is the third generation mobile phone system under HSPA standard with 900 MHz frequency. The 3G phone supports data transfer with HSPA-High Speed Packet Access of up to 7,200 kb/sec. This service was first offered in Thailand by AIS. From its super high-speed technology AIS can provide VDO call, high speed internet and large data downloading, such as full song, VDO clip, VDO streaming, online games etc. AIS continues to improve network quality and capacity by implementing EDGE Plus solutions for customers to enable them to experience higher data speed and the ability to use voice and data simultaneously. AIS was the first to launch “AIS MICRO NETSIM” in Thailand for users of Smart Gadgets such as iPad and other future products in the market. It meets both Prepaid and Postpaid with three usage forms, e.g. Internet SIM, Multi SIM and new SIM Card. AIS has also developed a programme called “AIS Widgets” to connect to internet via AIS air-card more conveniently. It also helps to check usage volume of Data Package, Balance, Fill or buy GPRS/EDGE/3G immediately without removing the SIM from Aircard. For One-2-Call!, AIS, together with Microsoft, launched a new SIM Card-“Chat SIM” to enable customers to chat unlimitedly with other mobile phone owners for 24 hours. GSM advance launched a service called “GSM Mobile payWave” to introduce new payment services using a mobile phone in lieu of credit card to pay for products and services. For customers of GSM advance, holders of K-Bank credit cards simply put their mobile phones on the reader of Visa payWave for a few seconds. Then, they can make their payment in HIP way. AIS is also winning customers by using top technology of EDGE Plus to use only one SIM Card as an all-in-one solution under a new theme called “GSM All In One SIM”.

In addition, AIS introduced solutions for to relieve parents’ concerns and enhance management potential of educational institutions by integrating a variety of technologies to create a medium between parents-children and teachers. “Smart Secure” is another innovation of intelligent back-up system to reserve and retrieve personal information. If the mobile phone is lost, the owner can send his/her command via 100% information security system to lock the phone and prevent others viewing his/her information or delete it from the phone immediately on his/her own. AIS also developed a recent innovation called “AIS QR Code Generator” which enables customers to generate their QR Codes in their own styles. AIS also created the AIS App Store to be the “Shopping Place for Fun and Necessary Stuff for Wireless Era People”.
