Dear parent: Thank you for registering your child for Travel soccer tryouts! We look forward to seeing all the children soon. Enclosed you will find both information as well as forms which should be handed in at tryouts. Before committing to a competitive soccer team, you should evaluate several things about your child and your lifestyle: • Am I, the parent, willing to make the financial commitment for the season? • Am I, the parent, willing to make the commitment of getting my child to two practices per week 5-‐10 minutes prior to practice during the season? DSC Travel teams practice December through July. Please review the enclosed schedule that fully explains the season and commitment required. • Am I, the parent, willing to make the commitment of getting my child to games 30 minutes before game time? • Am I, the parent, willing to make sure my child is available for tournaments which will be announced just prior to Spring/outdoor soccer? • Does my child have time in his or her schedule? Can he/she balance school, homework, school sports and/or other extracurricular activities to commit to a competitive team? Excessive absenteeism could result in loss of playing time and/or removal from the program. • Does my child want to play soccer competitively? • Is my child ready for the higher speed and physical play of competitive soccer? Need-‐based scholarships are available.
