Thank you for your interest in playing athletics at McKendree University. As a prospective student-athlete or “PSA,” there is information that you should know about your possible recruitment and eligibility. This brochure will help you understand what you may expect during your recruitment. Incoming Freshmen Eligibility • Must have graduated high school. • Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.000 (based on a maximum 4.000) in a successfully completed core curriculum of at least 16 academic courses, including the following: 1. English- 3 years 2. Mathematics-2 years 3. Natural or physical science (including at least one laboratory course if offered by the high school)- 2 years 4. Additional courses in English, mathematics, or natural or physical science- 3 years 5. Social science- 2 years 6. Additional academic courses [in any of the above areas or foreign language, philosophy or nondoctrinal religion (e.g., comparative religion) courses]- 4 years • A minimum combined score on the SAT verbal/critical reasoning and math sections of 820 or a minimum sum score of 68 on the ACT. • All PSA must be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center to certify a student-athlete’s initial eligibility.

If you are a Freshman or Sophomore PSA: • You may receive educational information published by the NCAA, McKendree camp brochures, questionnaires and non athletically related recruiting materials (e.g., McKendree admissions publications, academic publications, student services publications). • McKendree staff members (including athletics staff members) may respond to your request for information from the McKendree athletics department, provided the written response does not include information that would initiate your recruitment or information related to the McKendree’s athletics program (e.g., the reply contains an explanation of current NCAA legislation or a referral to the admissions department). • McKendree staff members may receive telephone calls placed by you at your own expense at any time. However, McKendree staff members may not call you. • You may visit McKendree’s campus at your own expense an unlimited number of times; including before your senior year in high school. If you are a Junior PSA: • On June 15 prior to your junior year you (or your parents, legal guardians, or coaches) may receive athletically related recruiting materials (including email, faxes, text messaging or instant messaging, etc.). • McKendree staff members may receive telephone calls placed by you at your own expense at any time.



Telephone calls and in-person, offcampus recruiting contacts by McKendree staff members shall not be made with you (or your relatives or legal guardians) prior to June 15 of your junior year.

If you are a Senior PSA: • You may take an official visit at McKendree, but it can not be before the opening day of classes of your senior year in high school. You also must present in writing a score from a PSAT, an SAT, a PLAN, or an ACT, register with the NCAA Eligibility Center, and be placed on McKendree’s request list (IRL) with the NCAA Eligibility Center prior to the official visit. If you are a Two-Year College PSA: • Institutional staff members may receive telephone calls placed by you at your own expense at any time. • You (or your parents, legal guardians, or coaches) may receive athletically related recruiting materials (including email, faxes, text messaging or instant messaging, etc.). • Telephone calls and in-person, off campus recruiting contacts by McKendree staff members may be made with you (or your relatives or legal guardians). However, institutional staff member may not contact you, unless it falls within the contact period within his or her sport in the recruiting calendar.

If you are a Four-Year College PSA: • A McKendree athletics staff member or other representative of McKendree’s athletics interests shall not make contact with you, directly or indirectly, without first obtaining the written permission of the first institution’s athletics director to do so, regardless of who makes the initial contact. • If you have officially withdrawn from the first four-year collegiate institution, no contact shall be made with you unless at least one academic year has elapsed since withdrawal or written permission is obtained from the first institution. • You (or your parents, legal guardians, or coaches) may receive athletically related recruiting materials (including email, faxes, text messaging or instant messaging, etc.). • Telephone calls and in-person, off campus recruiting contacts by McKendree staff members may be made with you (or your relatives or legal guardians). However, institutional staff member may not contact you, unless it falls within the contact period within his or her sport in the recruiting calendar. • You may take an official visit to McKendree only after written permission has been granted by the NCAA or NAIA institution that you currently attend.
