Prayer Chain The Prayer Chain is a feature of the Anchor. What is a Prayer Chain? When someone has problems, (an illness, and accident, a death of even a small need) - suddenly prayer is wanted. The Pastor/Elders is the first call. But in every need the Prayer Chain is available. One person calls another and suddenly several people are paying together. IN case of no answer leave a message or call back later and call the next
one in line. The Chain would like more members. MEN are welcome. Chmn. Betty Fose 740-344-7503 Alice Ann Abel 740-366-6108

Jokes Lure of the Gospel It was time for the children’s sermon. So I called the kids forward to the altar steps and told them a story about Jesus and His disciples. Then I asked a perfectly natural question: “When Jesus called the disciples to be fishers of men, what bait did he tell them to use?” One little boy leaned toward my microphone and confidently replied,
“Women.”
Me Too, Mom!
- The Rev. Harvey Hannenman Dodge City, KS
Eyes Closed, But . . . Our 4-year-old grandson was the ringbearer at his uncle’s wedding. Soon after beginning the service, the pastor said, “Let us pray.” Holding the pillow with the wedding rings, our grandson exclaimed in a loud whisper, “But can’t fold my hands!” - Mary Reed Bethesda, MD
My wife, Erna, thought the day had come. She was wrong. “The day” was to be our 3year-old son’s first time alone in the pew while his mother went forward for Communion. Erna though, “He’ll be OK.” But just as she received the bread, Nathan stood up and yelled, “I’m hungry too!” There wasn’t a straight face in the church—two red ones, though. Guess whose. - The Reve.
