WHAT WILL WE DO UNTIL APRIL? First of all, thank you! Thanks to everyone for your patience and flexibility as we go through the construction process. Thanks to everyone who has helped to move “stuff” (Jim Blackburn, Muriel Casey, Barbara Chambliss, Sallie Cochran, Sandra Hamilton, Marion Kanour, the ECW...and to the crew that will be recruited this Sunday to move more furniture)! Thanks to everyone who has pledged to the building project! Thanks to Colin Anderson and his crew for their work ethic and timely progress! Colin estimates we’ll be in our new addition in time for the Seder meal on Maundy Thursday (April 1). So, what do we do with ourselves until April 1st? Here are a few of the temporary changes we’re making to accommodate the process: Coffee and fellowship are moving down the hall and into the classroom. See you there!

Griffis family (and others they’ll recruit) to help cook/serve/clean-up. The dinner will be offered from 67:30 PM.

Our Lenten fare for the Wednesday night series (February 24, March 3 and March 10) will feature a hearty salad bar and homemade bread. The dinner will begin at 6:30 PM and the program follows at 7 PM. The series will use a curriculum developed in conjunction with Michael Sullivan’s book, Windows into the Light: A Lenten Journey. This curriculum is appropriate for ages 8 to adult. Come and bring a friend. (The brochure will be available on Sunday, January 17th.) We’re hopeful our Seventh Annual Seder will be held using our new kitchen in our expanded parish hall.

Sunday School will not meet again until the building project is complete. The Youth Forum will continue to meet (January 10, February 7, March 7, April 11 and May 2) at 11 AM. Our Bible Study group has been readying itself for the study of Leviticus (tough reading/tough theology). That group will continue to meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 1 PM. The ECW will continue to meet on 1st Mondays at 1 PM in the classroom. And, all of our AA groups will continue meeting on their regularly-scheduled evenings in the classroom. Our February 16th Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is moved to Celia Lloyd’s home (very near the church--103 Saddleback Way). Thanks to Celia for her willingness to have us there...and to the

It will be on Thursday, April 1. The Seder meal begins at 6:30 PM and is followed by the Maundy Thursday service at 8 PM. The traditional lamb meal will be offered, in addition to chicken and vegetarian options (by prior reservation). There are sign-up lists for the Pancake Supper, the Lenten Series and the Seder meal available today in the entrance foyer.

It’s a 4 year program (September-May), requiring a one year-at-a-time commitment from participants. EFM groups have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 students. The curriculum is nationally-standardized by the University of the South and offers an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in more in-depth education/critical inquiry in the Old Testament, New Testament, Church History and Church Ethics. We’ll be offering the class on Wednesday nights. The class is open to parishioners and non-parishioners alike (until the maximum cut off). Marion will be serving as Mentor for the group’s weekly meetings. The University of the South requires accreditation for mentors. Marion will attend the accrediting class January 14-16 at Evans House in Roanoke. If you think you might be interested in joining the group in September (or know someone who might be) let Marion know. The course costs $340 per year, covering text books and handouts. Reduced fees are available (please see Marion).
