Both of these ships took part in the events on December 16, 1773. On board you will explore the decks, captain’s quarters and cargo hold. You and your guests will relive the infamous night and dump the tea into the sea! The Museum: We’re an entirely new kind of museum, where you’ll not only view artifacts of historical importance, you’ll also have an all-encompassing, multi-sensory experience. At the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, our museum experience will transport you on an incredible journey back in time as you take part in the famous event that forever changed the course of American History! Located on the Congress Street Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts, this floating Museum is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. Live actors, high-tech, interactive exhibits, authentically restored tea ships and the stirring, multi-sensory documentary “Let it Begin Here,” are just a taste of what you’ll see, hear and feel. Meet the colonists, explore the ships and dump tea overboard just as the Sons of Liberty did on that fateful night of December 16, 1773. The tour is designed to give you the opportunity to participate, explore and learn about the people, events and consequences that led up to the American Revolution in the order in which they actually occurred more than 230 years ago.

Event space is available 7 days a week from 6pm-11pm.

The 1 hour Museum Experience is a guided tour led by a Son or Daughter of Liberty. Each tour can accommodate 55 guests max. We also offer an abbreviated 30 minute tour that includes the famous meeting with Samuel Adams and of course tossing the tea into the harbor. Guests looking for something more informal may have one or both ships open and guests can explore at their leisure. Abigail’s Tea Room & Terrace: Abigail’s Tea Room & Terrace is the indoor event space at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. A setting of elegant lighting, gleaming wood floors and a glowing fireplace creates a warm ambiance. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the room with spectacular waterfront and cityscape views. A pair of double doors leads to the outdoor covered Terrace overlooking Fort Point Channel. The Complete Museuem Experience: Boston Harbor –“A Teapot Tonight!” includes the rental of Abigail’s Tea Room & Terrace, Griffin’s Wharf, and an interactive experience aboard one of the replica 18th century sailing ships led by Sons & Daughters of Liberty. Event guests may board the ships; hear about the events and consequences that led up to the American Revolution, and join the Sons of Liberty as they “Dump tea into the sea!” The Ships and the Deck: In warmer months, the maritime setting of Griffin’s Wharf, a 1000 square foot deck area surrounded by the glow of lantern light, is the perfect outdoor setting! Warm breezes, gorgeous sunsets, and the magic of the city at night provide the perfect backdrop for an evening reception.
