The Commish Corner Winter Season 2013/14- Week 1
Top News! Great first start to the 2013 Winter season! Lots of exciting close games and we are excited to see what is to come! Get pumped Legends!! Don’t forget there is a two week break and we are back on January 5th! The schedule has now been updated to include games on January 5 and 12. Welcome back to Chuck Barber! We are glad to see him back from an 18 month break due to a bad knee injury. We are excited that he is doing awesome in his first game back (even though his team lost!)

Legend of the Week! – Mykel Wright (Spartans) Congratulations to Mykel Wright! Wright scored 23 points this week for his team the Spartans in the Elite Division. He carried his team to a victory over the Hoosiers of 70 to 62. Great start for the Spartans! “We needed to sign him in the off-season, and we did what it took to get him back,” said coach Monte Evans. “After that fateful OT loss in the Finals by that #8 seed…well, that really hurt - and we will not rest, we will not stop, we will not relent, until we hold that Elite trophy in our hands!” he added calmly.
Game of the Week! – Kryptonite over Havoc! Defending A/B champion Kryptonite had a huge scare brought on by one of the new Legends teams this fall, OMB Havoc! And what a game it was! Havoc came out like a storm, and quickly built a 16 point lead early in the first half! But as Kryptonite wiped away the cobwebs, they slowly fought their way all the way back with some clutch shooting and intense hustling all around! With just under two minutes left, they tied the game, which sent a panic through the long and crowded bench of Team Havoc! Then Jeff Bechtle stepped to the line for two critical free throws…and he iced the game! Congrats to both teams on a hard-fought game – and you get the sense they will meet again!
