The day we have all been waiting for finally arrived and we were all so excited. At last we could make an igloo from all of the milk cartons that we have collected over the weeks. We began by marking out the shape of the igloo on a big piece of cardboard and then we joined pairs of milk cartons together before placing them on our template. This made up the first ‘layer’. We continued to join pairs of cartons using sellotape and then we secured them using a glue gun.
We quickly realised that the outline of the igloo was too big and so we made it smaller and then we built it up, adding a second and then third layer. The igloo began to collapse and we found it very difficult. We decided that igloos are very difficult to make and we are really glad that we are not Inuit people who might need to build one out of compacted snow. We decided to admit defeat!
