Note to LG Leaders: If you chose to have a devotional before or at half time of the Super Bowl and want to go deeper into the AM lesson, here are a few questions: 1. If you knew that you had one day to live, what would your priorities be and what do you think you would want to do & say? 2. Holly Butcher was a 27 year old lady who knew that she was dying. She wrote a letter to her family the day before she died. Which of her thoughts [which are on the outline] resonated with you? 3. How did/does it affect you to know that all those who believe in Christwhich includes each of us- were on Jesus’ mind, and in his prayer, the night before he died? 4. John 17 is referred to as the “The Holy of Holies” prayer and we are privileged to have it recorded for us in the Bible. D.A. Carson said that there are five specific petitions in it and all of them are bathed in love as Jesus weaves them all together. In the text that we looked at this morning, what are the three desires that Jesus has for us that are found in v.24-26? 5. What do you think Jesus means when he says that He wants us to be with him? 6. Imagine [as best you can] seeing Jesus in all of his splendor and glory. What do you think that would be like & how do you think that you would respond?
7. Can we really love others with the same kind of love that God the Father had/has for His Son Jesus? Explain your answer & if the answer is yes, explain what that would look like.
Challenge: One night this week, begin thinking about what you would say and do tomorrow if you knew that you only had tomorrow. The next day, do something that would be super important to you.
