SPRING BALL - May 5th, 2012
Major Mets visit UCLA On Sunday April 29th, the Major Mets attended the UCLA versus Stanford game at Jackie Robinson Stadium as part of the Future Bruins program. Manager Stephen Stamer set up the trip
to the game for the team. The team got to go down on the field and take part in the pregame and National Anthem with the entire UCLA baseball team. The Major Mets then got to enjoy the game with their teammates. Unfortunately the Bruins were not able to handle the 7th ranked Stanford Cardinals losing by a score of 7-2.

Baseball — “What’s Different” The baseball card printer goofed! Only two of the cards below are exactly alike. All of the others have minor differences. Can you spot the two identical baseball cards?
Famous Little Leaguers - “Blast from the Past” Bruce Springsteen is the only person to be inducted into the both the Little League Hall of Fame (1997) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1999). Springsteen once commented that “Little League has a big, positive impact in my life.”

In order to produce the new sletter each week I need your help. I am looking for art icle and picture submissions. Without your help I can not produce The Diamond Dust. Please email me pictures of games your watching. It’s a great way to get YOUR team int o The Diamond Dust. Good articles include great games, team events and other RLL activit ies. Remember when writing art icles to keep them in the spirit of Riviera Little League. Artic les about games should be positive and include information abo ut both teams. We may edi t submissions for content and length or reject inappropr iate articles. Please send your submissio ns, pictures, and suggestio ns. Stump the Ump… (Answer) Situation: Right – Rule: 2.00 STRIKE—A strike is a judgment by the umpire as to whether the batter attempted to strike the ball. Breaking the wrists, or the barrel of the bat crossing the plate are simply guides to making the judgment of an attempt, these are not rules or considered automatic strikes.
