Goals •Vision: To act as a catalyst for peace, prosperity and national pride, ensuring that its globally important habitats, biodiversity, environmental services and wider landscape are conserved and that neighbouring communities are active environmental stewards of the natural resource base that underpins and enhances their livelihoods •Goal: Close the hunger gap •Targets : directly benefit biodiversity (60 Globally threatened) & livelihoods (>24000 people) *3 Yields; 3000 farmers/yr *4 Yields; 3000 farmers/yr; Export 50MT by 2020

Process Key Factors & Principles: • 26 yr strong partnership • Free Prior Informed Consent •REDD Project: result based •Theory of Change •>2yrs consultation Examples: • Identification & engagement different stakeholders: resource use & rights • Focal groups, scenario analysis, household surveys, road/radio shows • Engaging landowners (carbon rights concepts) • Boundary demarcation exercise Some Outputs: • Stakeholder/rainbow analysis • Reports on historical land use and rights in and around the National Park • Development of a suite of livelihood activities to reduce deforestation due to leakage • Defined and agreed boundaries • Legal agreements (i.e to exchange carbon rights for compensation) • Benefit sharing agreement
