BIBLE STORY FOR TODDLERS After Jesus went up to heaven, His friends were praying together. Suddenly a sound like a rushing wind came from heaven. The friends were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit helped them speak in different languages. Peter told a large crowd of people that Jesus showed He is God’s Son by the miracles He did, but the leaders of the people killed Him. Peter said, “God made Jesus alive again because He is the Messiah. We have seen Jesus alive!” When the people heard, they asked, “What should we do?” Peter said, “Tell God you are sorry for disobeying Him. Trust Jesus and be baptized!” That day, thousands of people heard God’s words and trusted in Jesus.

SING A SONG Sing to the tune of “B-I-N-G-O”: “Jesus’ friends had a job to do, and so He sent a Helper! USE SIGN LANGUAGE WITH BABIES Place babies in a highchair or sit with them on the floor. Smile as you say “Jesus loves you,” making simple hand signs to go with the words. Repeat with each child. BLOW BUBBLES Blow bubbles and invite babies to pop them. Be mindful of tiled floors to prevent slipping. If you are blowing bubbles outside, talk about how the wind carries away the bubbles. MAKE MINI WIND CHIMES Print the key passage card onto heavyweight paper for each toddler. Invite children to decorate it with stickers. Help toddlers thread large jingle bells onto three ribbons per child. Staple the ribbons to the card. Hole punch the top of the card and thread ribbon to make a hanger. Demonstrate how the wind makes the chimes move. SAY: God sent the Holy Spirit to Jesus’ friends. They heard a sound like a loud rushing wind. THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS US.
PRACTICE PRAYING Remind the toddlers that we can talk to God anytime and anywhere because He cares for us. Invite toddlers to take turns talking to God.
