Jackson Symphony Youth Orchestra Fall Audition Information for 2014-2015 Season String Instruments, 2:00 – 5:00 PM, Saturday, August 16th 2014 Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion, 2:00 – 5:00 PM, Sunday, August 17th 2014 For the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, french horn, trumpet, euphonium/baritone horn, trombone, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, string bass, harp. General Information
The Jackson Symphony Youth Orchestra (JSYO) rehearses Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 beginning August 21st, 2014.
Membership in the JSYO is open to string, brass, woodwind and percussion students who are accomplished, dedicated and responsible.
Students are selected for membership based on an audition. Past JSYO students must re-audition each year.
Students selected for the orchestra must maintain a high level of commitment to the ensemble through diligent practice and regular attendance.
There is a tuition fee of $175 for the entire 2014-2015 season. This fee may be paid in two monthly installments of $87.50 each. The full amount must be paid by September 14, 2014.
Youth Orchestra parents are encouraged to participate in the Youth Orchestra Parent and Alumni Association our one fundraiser a year.
Audition Material Strings, Woodwinds and Brass
All 12 major scales must be prepared
A one-minute piece (solo, etude, etc.) of your choice which best demonstrates your level of ability. (Please bring two copies for the judges)
