IOWA TESTS ARE THIS WEEK! Make sure that your child receives adequate rest and a nutritious breakfast so that the testing accurately reflects their ability and understanding. Please make every effort to get your student to school on time this week. WALK-A-THON: Our 5th annual Walk-a-Thon will be taking place on Friday, September 25th! Our school goal is to raise $25,000…If each child meets their individual goal of $199.00 - We will reach our goal! This year the Home & School Walk-a-Thon is raising money for new classroom carpets, classroom funds and technology! Sponsor sheets and volunteer sheets have been sent home with your child. Have you heard about some of the exciting prizes?!…A week at Camp Wawona and a GoPro camera are just a couple of the awesome prizes! Prizes will be posted this week. (Note: ALL prizes have been donated by various companies and a couple of parents - We are blessed!) This year’s Walk-a-Thon Motto: “ASK, ASK, ASK”! Thank You in advance for helping your child to get sponsors! Volunteers are needed!! Please see the neon yellow attachment for detailed information. Also attached is a Permission Slip for your child to participate in the Walk-a-Thon – please return it to your child’s teacher by Monday, September 21st.

CALENDAR UP-DATE – NO SCHOOL NOV. 20th A Pastor / Teacher day has been planned for Friday, November 20, 2015. Although teachers will be at school, there is NO school for students on this day. For those that need child-care, it will be available from 7:30 am – 5:00 pm.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL GAMES - Wednesday, Sept. 16th Come and support our 5th - 6th grade girls at 3:30 followed by our 7th - 8th grade girls at 4:30. See you there!
FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT – Sunday, September 27th You’re invited to come and cheer on our flag football teams at the upcoming tournament at: Central Valley Christian Academy in Modesto, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
STUDENT DISASTER KITS: The state of California requires every student attending Miramonte School must have a Student Disaster Kit in case of emergency. Please return the pink order form or supply an emergency kit for your child before September 25. If you do not order or supply a kit, one will be provided for your child and their school account will be charged $8.
BLUE SHIRT DAY – October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. We want to show our support for Bully Prevention and have chosen Monday, October 5th as Blue Shirt Day at Miramonte! Wear your favorite BLUE shirt & help turn our school blue on October 5th!
FALL FESTIVAL – Sunday, October 18th 12:00 – 3:00 pm - Come out and support Miramonte Christian School and have a fun-filled afternoon. Activities include: Games, jump-house, cake-walk, food, sports lounge & much, much more! Invite your friends & relatives – everyone is welcome!
CAMPMEETING THEME CONTEST: The 2016 Central California Camp Meeting in Soquel was focused on Adventist Education. In honor of that, the Conference has announced a contest. The student who creates the winning Title will receive $500 for tuition and his or her classroom will receive $250. We have been telling the students about this and ask you to encourage them to submit a Title and Subtitle soon! The Title is to be 2-4 words; the Subtitle should be 4-6 words in length. All submissions must be given to Principal Maloon by Wednesday, September 16th.
“MY DIGITAL TAT2” ~ A Big Thanks to Noreen Chan and the Olweus Bully Prevention Team for hosting this timely presentation. All the adults who attended had their eyes opened to what is happening in our children’s internet world and now have a better idea how to approach the subject with their sons and daughters.
JUNIOR HIGH CLASSROOM LIBRARY: The Jr. High classroom Library is looking for donations of age appropriate books or e-readers (nooks, kindles, iPads, etc.) to help boost our classroom curriculum. Please drop off your donations (books or money) in the 7th grade classroom. Thank you!
