The Monthly Roundup
Catching Up with President Richard Lovett
Hello there CAA Sports Staff, First off all I would like to congratulate you all on an excellent past quarter. I know you are all working very hard with all of your clients and it is surely paying off. In this upcoming quarter I would not only like to see you to continue to work with your present clients securing deals, but also for you to take some new ones under your belt. We are well known for our widespread representation throughout all aspects of the sporting industry and so many of you work with the best of the best. I want to switch gears and focus on the up and coming. College hockey season is wrapping up, basketball is underway with playoffs coming soon, and baseball is not far ahead. Get out there and scout some players, find some new talent. We need to go out there and find the best of the best and get them drafted. Our reputation in the sporting industry is highly regarded for senior, experienced players, but I believe there is room to grow. If we can grab on and take hold of the gap that is the up and coming young athlete market, we can take over yet another part of the industry. Thank you for all that you do. Keep your head in the game. Best wishes, Richard Lovett
Employee of the Month: Pat Brisson CAA Sports would like to recognize agent Pat Brisson as employee of the month. Pat as co- head of the hockey division works tirelessly with his clients on and off the ice. Recently, Pat has landed a deal with client Sidney Crosby and Reebok, which has secured Crosby as the NHL’s highest paid athlete. Pat’s work with Crosby not only exemplifies everything that we strive for at CAA Sports but also shows how important it is to further our clients opportunities in sponsorship and endorsement areas. Pat is taking huge strides for us as we continue on our path to branch out in the world of hockey. Our congratulations go out to Pat on all of his accomplishments.
Fast Five with Sidney Crosby CAA: What do you do on days off? SC: I’m a movie guy. CAA: Any pregame rituals? SC: I eat chicken and pasta. Every darn time. CAA: Where do you get your coffee? SC: I prefer Tim Hortons, but Starbucks is a close second. CAA: Favorite team to play against? SC: That’s easy, the NYR. CAA: What’s something not a lot of people know about you? SC: I am very superstitious. Probably shouldn’t have told you that.

Community Spotlight
Hats off to our client, Mark Buehrle of the Toronto Blue Jays. Mark, an avid animal lover and animal rights activist has been working very hard with his agent and our peer, Jeff Berry. Together the duo is campaigning for adoption and hitting the ground running, taking one city at a time. Mark and his family have rescued and adopted four dogs and advocating for adoption is something he is very passionate about. Together him and Berry have used Marks own creation “Sox for Strays,” as well as Purina to start getting billboards up that encourage people to adopt animals. Mark’s goal is to have athletes in every city posing with their own pets and supporting the cause. Mark and Berry also have plans in the works with other big names like Petco and American Adoptions. If any of your clients would be interested in helping support the cause please contact Jeff Berry in the baseball department.
Looking Ahead: 2016 Summer Olympics
What’s Hot Now? Our client Shaun White hosted the first U.S. stop of his Air + Style tour in midFebruary at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The event which is part concert and part sports competition drew a huge crowd with big names like Kendrick Lamar, Steve Aoki, and Diplo performing. Between performances snowboarding and skiing competitions took place Gus Kenworthy of the with U.S. taking home gold. White is the majority stake-holder of the event and stated that it exceeded his expectations. “This event has been a dream of mine,” commented White. We are excited to see what the future holds for our very talented client.
The 2016 Summer Olympic Games are set to be held in Rio de Janeiro. While this is months away, it is never too early to prepare for an event of this magnitude. With agents on board representing big names like Ryan Lochte, Sanya Richards-Ross, and Summer Sanders, who are of course team USA shoe-ins, let us not forget the agents representing those vying for such coveted spots. The time
before and after the Olympics are an incredibly big deal for our athletes and should not be taken lightly by our organization. New client centered opportunities with different brand or product endorsements and sponsorships with be tossed around left and right, so be prepared and talk to your client in advance about the many opportunities we can make available to them.
