The Mt. Diablo Hill Climb Time Trial Course: 10k (6.2 mile) time trial up the North Gate side of Mt. Diablo. Course begins at the entry kiosk on North Gate Rd. and finishes at the ranger residence just short of the junction (intersection of North Gate Rd. and Mt Diablo Scenic Bl.) covering over half the total distance to the summit. Climbing with gradients up to 15% begins after 1.5 miles of gentle rollers. Total elevation gain of 1,740 ft. Road is good pavement. USA Cycling permits pending. Location: (Directions To Registration) From 680 North: From 680 North: Take Ygnacio Valley Rd. exit, right on Ygnacio Valley Rd., right on Walnut Ave. (not Walnut Blvd.) to end, right at the roundabout on Castle Rock Rd and follow signs to parking. From 680 South: Take Treat Boulevard exit left on N. Main St., first left on Treat Boulevard, right on Oak Grove Road, continue straight through roundabout on Castle Rock Rd and follow signs to parking. North Gate High School, 425 Castle Rock Rd, Walnut Creek, CA. Entry: Valid USAC license or 1-day license required. Non-licensed racers can apply for a 1-day license at the registration tent. Please allow an extra 20 minutes registration time if you need to purchase a one-day license. All competitors must complete USAC Race Entry and Release Form. Under 18 must have co-signature of a parent or legal guardian. Registration: ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY. Registration check-in opens at 6:30 am on race day, Saturday July 21. Online pre-registration is available through Wednesday July 18, 12:00 pm via www.bikereg.com. Find your exact start time on Thursday July 19 at www.c4racing.org. Start time order will be grouped by category after all registered riders are tabulated. No mail-in pre-registration. No refunds. Race held rain or shine. Important: Start ramp is at the Mt. Diablo Park entry kiosk, 1.8 miles from parking/registration area — allow time to ride from registration to start. No parking allowed at the start ramp area. Participants will be disqualified for centerline violations, exceeding speed limit on post-race descent, or littering.
