The Oaks Infant School Parent Teacher Association Minutes 29.09.2016 – The School staffroom
1. Current committee members attending: Sally Hollister, Sarah Noble, Sandra Spocchia and Staff member Jenny Wynn. 2. New members attending: Clare Adkins, Michelle Cooper, Laura Friday, Alison Gore, Amye Brobyn-Gillie, Sarah Brobyn-Ross, Katie Hutchinson, Danielle Cass, Claire Duncan, Gemma Darlington and Maria Clark. 3. Change of committee Roles: Joint Chair – Sally Hollister and Sarah Noble Vice Chair – Sandra Spocchia and Claire Duncan Secretary – Gemma Darlington Treasurer – Dannielle Cass 4. Charity status – As the PTA is now a registered charity, possible ways of gaining donations was discussed. 5. Future Events- Discussed
Halloween Disco – has been moved to a friendship disco in Term 3
Book Sale – has been changed to a winter fair. School hall to be used by traders or public, £10 per table (approx. 20 tables). Also public to donate to school nearly new books and toys to sell on a PTA table. Refreshments table also to be run by PTA. Date to be arranged (possibly 9th December)
Penny Wars Jar – To be sent out after porch light charity collection. A one year contest (or until jar filled) for each class to fill a jar, winning class will receive a bouncy castle afternoon.
Santa’s Grotto – Christmas jumper day has already been arranged for 16th December. The grotto will also be held on this date. Set up will be on the Thursday before (15th). Volunteers – Set up – Sarah and Sally Elves – Dannielle, Gemma, Clare, Claire, Amye.
Santa’s Letter – Same as last year £1.50 per child. Volunteers – Letter writing – Sandra and Clare A Delivery – Sandra, Claire D, Annabel Book wrapping – Everyone to meet one evening at the school.
Christmas Tree Sales - Jenny Wynn has a contact to sell trees at the school on a pre-order basis. Trees will be approximately £33 for a 6ft tree and we can add what mark-up we want £5 approx. Trees will be delivered to the school. Date to be arranged possibly 9th December.
Christmas Play Refreshments – 6 settings, 6th am, 7th am, 13th am and pm and also 15th am and pm. Helpers to be confirmed.
The Oaks Infant School Parent Teacher Association Easter Egg hunt – To be held on the last day of term (31st March), rather than collecting tokens in the early years area, they will have named plaques to find hidden around the whole school grounds and to write or mark down where they found them and what names etc. Message local stores for egg donations. To avoid the long queues and waiting times from last year.
Spring Fete – To be held on the 21st may. To be discussed further at the next meeting.
6. AOB: Other ideas – Personalised Christmas cards – Sarah to find out if this is feasible and to look at samples.
