The Opportunity The utility-consumer relationship is changing. Consumer utility big data are being generated with increasing scale, and consumers are demanding – and being granted – access to their data. Residential water consumers are experiencing sharp rate increases that encourage conservation, however, they still only receive an opaque, inactionable bi-monthly paper bill – an analog experience in a digital world. Water utilities are facing pressure to conserve – due to population growth and climate change, regulations require water utilities to reduce water consumption by 20% by 2020. Unfortunately, traditional approaches to consumer outreach and water conservation are not working. Modern hardware is being deployed in the form of smart meters, but utilities are not equipped to fully extract its value via mobile technology and big data analytics. MARKET MOMENTUM August 27, 2013: WaterSmart Software closes $4.5M Series A, led by The Westly Group with participation by DFJ, Physic Ventures and Apsara. April 1, 2013: Aquacue acquired by Badger Meter (NYSE: BMI) for $14M cash.

Our Solution Dropcountr partners with water utilities to disaggregate, analyze and intuitively present big data generated by smart meter networks. Dropcountr is a replacement to the conventional bi-monthly paper water bill, and is delivered to consumers via a compelling mobile design with social and gamified elements. Data analytics provide clarity to consumers on how water is used and enable targeted recommendations for behavioral and/or hardware changes. Sustained water conservation benefits utilities through regulatory compliance, streamlined operations and avoided cost of service (water purchases or capital supply projects). Saving water saves consumers money, all through a mobile interface that is empowering, convenient and fun.

Dropcountr has achieved traction through utility customer interviews and pilot discussions. We have presented the product design and feature set to over 100 water utilities, resulting in a focused and highly relevant product. We have targeted two water utilities with a track record for early technology adoption. Paid pilots are scheduled to commence in April 2014.

Funding Needs Dropcountr is currently raising a 2M seed round to: • Sustain 1-2 pilots to evaluate consumer response to features and measure conservation benefit • Conduct sales & marketing outreach to fill post-pilot sales funnel ROBB BARNITT, FOUNDER & CEO [email protected]
