Vivian and David of North Carolina live at the Ranch and took a day trip to Ometepe island. Vivian explained that the larger volcano, Concepcion, is still hot and active, and Volcan Maderas is inactive, with a tranquil lagoon disguising it’s fiery past. After an hour drive from Rancho Santana in the trusty car they nicknamed “Gomez,” they waited to board the ferry with friends and Ranch neighbors Martee and Tom.
