Notices & Events Food Bank: If you would like to donate food for those people who are in need, please bring your donation of non-perishable food & put it in the basket at the back of the church. Grace takes the donations to the food bank after the services on the first Sunday of the month. Dates for your Diary No Choir practice or Craft Club this week Wed April 15th– CRUSE Bereavement Support Group. 2-3.15PM St Theodore’s 16th April 7pm Margam Deanery Conference focusing on the debate on ‘Same Sex Marriage.‘ Everyone is welcome to attend. Tuesday 28th April Holy Eucharist & Easter Vestry Meeting—7pm. Followed by wine and cheese. Tickets available next week.

Easter 2—Low Sunday We are always pleased to welcome newcomers or visitors. If you worship regularly with a different denomination and received communion there, you are very welcome to receive Holy Communion in our Church . You are also warmly invited to join us for coffee or tea following the morning service.
“Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.” In todays’ Gospel, Thomas yields completely to the experience to “Do not doubt any longer but believe.”, when he called out to Jesus “My Lord and my God!” It is one of the most powerful acknowledgements of Jesus’ real identity in the whole Gospel and the only time anyone directly calls him God.
If you know of some-one who needs a visit from the church please speak to Sue Kibby or Enid Rymer at the end of the service, or leave a message on their phones. We will arrange for one of the visiting team to call on them. Sunday Services Next Week 19th April 2015

Ironically, too, it is an act of faith. Thomas could not see directly that Jesus was God. No one can see God directly. But the experience convinced Thomas that he was in the presence of God himself. The following words of Jesus are meant to encourage us, all those who have not had Thomas’ experience: “Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.” We, too, need to be always open to experiences where God’s unmistakable presence can be recognised. Finally, we are reminded that everything that is in the Gospel is to help us to come to that stage of faith by which we believe “that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” and that, through this belief, we may find life. Untold numbers of people have tried this and found that it is altogether true. They have found in following Christ a meaning, a direction and a very special quality to their lives which cannot be found anywhere else. May that be our experience too.
