The Potter's Wheel
The Potter’s Wheel Hello and welcome, everyone. This is Darius Barazandeh and I am so excited that everybody’s here. I wanted to start out with something really profound that will help you to understand your true power. And so many people ask me. They’ll say, ‘Darius, well, how do I know that my life is meant for something more? How do I know that it’s possible that I can really awaken to something greater when maybe I’ve been dealing with so many struggles and challenges? So my question today is how do you know when a transformative miracle is germinating inside of you? Well, many times in life when things go wrong and we want something new we can think so much about changing the situation as fast as possible, maybe bringing it right back to the way that it was before. I know after my first marriage ended my first thought was: ‘How do I fix this? How do I go back and get back into that situation? How do I, you know, bring it back to what it was?’ But what I needed to understand from my transformative miracle was that Source didn’t want me to go down that road. That bridge had been passed. And many of you, I believe, you’d get that miracle that you're looking for, you’d be able to see that reality now come together that you want – that new relationship, that new job, that new monetary abundance or just that new piece – if you would stop asking for things to go back to the way they were but instead see how the current event is being used by Spirit to transform you. The second we get this transformation the door opens and the thing we want or the situation resolves. You see, the second I was content with my life, that was the moment that it didn’t matter whether I went back or not - and probably I could have. At that point, though, I didn’t want to. Something in me had transformed. And so I now had multiple doors open. See, I believe this is true with nearly every situation you’re facing. I’ll never forget the first time as a young man I saw this thing called a potter’s wheel. And there’s this big turning platform and there’s this lump of clay, this giant clod of wet clay that the potter just throws on this thing, and this clay is just being turned around and around. It’s out of its element. It’s spinning this way and that, being spun around. And you can imagine if you’re this piece of clay you’re probably incredibly disoriented. You’re going around and around, you’re getting dizzy, you're feeling like, ‘Oh my God, what’s happening? My whole world is upside down!’ Now, we’re talking from the perspective of this clay but that’s how it feels – right? – when something changes. And probably the first thing in the world that clay wanted was

just to be back on that shelf, you know, wrapped in that plastic, in that dark cool place and not being spun around. But it didn’t end there, because then the potter’s actually putting this pressure on this piece of clay with their hands, this gentle pressure as it spins around and around. And you’ve seen what happens. As this gentle pressure gets placed on this clay, eventually it begins to take shape. It begins to mold and it begins to morph and it begins to look like a pot or a vase. And it allows the perspective and shape of that clay to change, to metamorphize into something beautiful. Now, notice how the potter puts pressure on that clay. You put too much pressure and it collapses, right. The clay gets too dry and it’ll fall apart. You have to add enough water to keep it moist and to keep it fluid and you have to add just enough of those elements with it going around and around out of its element for its true perspective to change. And when it does, if the potter’s done its work and the potter is a master, something beautiful and new comes out. I believe in the universe, we are that piece of clay and God and Spirit is that potter and that potter’s wheel and the master is refining us. And many times we’re hoping to get back to that cold dark shelf and stay there and not be bothered. We’re looking for the transformation to bring us back to what we were before or we’re looking for it to change the situation and take us off that potter’s wheel. However, today what I want you to get is that Spirit may be using other people and situations to help transform you. Well, why is this? Well, the reason, I believe, is because your path is great, because you have great things inside of you. Because if you’re going through a struggle it’s not because you’re not worthy, it’s because you are worthy and you’re here to become that beautiful piece of art, that beautiful, useful, amazing beacon of light. Well, I want to leave you with three simple things. I think it’ll help you kind of get what it is that Spirit may be working on you. And when you have a transformative miracle germinating inside of you – and this could be something as simple as a new idea that changes your life and many others, a new love, a new way of living, a new way of receiving… Here are three things that always when I see these show up in my life I know there’s a transformative miracle if I just follow some of the steps I’m going to outline below, so I hope they’re useful for you. The first thing is if you have the same issue come up year after year, the same annoyances, the same people that are bothering you, the same worries, the same things going on; inside, on the other side of that frustration, is a miracle. You see, Spirit can’t give you that miracle yet because if you’re not changing ,Spirit can’t go in through divine free will and change your life. Spirit works through us not to us. There’s a distinction there. Going through us the miracles need our energy to actually work. They need our perspective to change. And sometimes it takes a little gentle pressure and lubrication, like that water. The thing that is your breakdown many times becomes your breakthrough. So be wary and watchful of that. 2
The second thing is if you want something new, if you're here today or any day and you feel like, ‘You know, I want this, I want to see this thing come about in my life, or I want to see this new possibility come forward.’ And you feel it in your heart and you really feel from your truest self that it’s something important that matters to you, the very fact that you have something churning in you is like that beautiful pot that is on the inside of that lump of clay. You just need that potter’s wheel to take off that excess, to take off those parts that don’t serve that clay any longer so that beautiful part of you can come forward, so that awakened miracle can be you, because it’s inside of you. This is where you begin. That seed is your sacred voice. We start there and we work from that. And lastly I’d say that by virtue of the fact that you are here and that you are living, that you are a part of this planet and you're tuning in, you are special. You have something amazing within you. You have something that matters. You have a gift to give and a life to create that can be magical. And so part of the way to get there is to just awaken to this truth and allow Spirit to move through you. And that may require you to change perspective through the gentle spirit and pressure that God source is applying in your life. What are the different ways that you can see things? What are the different opportunities maybe you’re not learning about or moving forward on? What are the different things that you can do right now to just be in appreciation and gratitude for the gift that you are? When you begin to do that, plus just plug into your heart, I believe that potter’s wheel we call the universe will mold and move you into the highest ideal of your life.
