The Royal Unibrew A/S in Faxe Denmark emits a wonderful characteristic aroma of hops. On the way there, one can distinctly tell that beer is brewed here. And not a small amount either! 1 million beers, on 1,100 palettes (100 cases of beer per palette) – and that daily!
Such a large production requires machines that can handle it. And a highquality centralized lubrication system as well. Allan Pedersen is the responsible maintenance manager for the filling line. He has six artisans and eight electricians in his team that ensure a smooth operation in the production of beer, carbonated lemonade, water and juice. “We credit the CentroMatic centralized lubrication system for increased operating time as several machines are always well lubricated. The biggest advantage of the lubrication system clearly lies in the safe operation and in the quality. A system that is really worth it”, says Allan Pedersen. The Hops Must Hop Around the Long Operating Period We head into the production to have a closer look at a Masytec machine that is equipped with a Lincoln system. On-route we visit the storage area where cable controlled vehicles quietly, and with digital precision, transport the palettes from one location to the next. We stop next to a machine that lifts the filled bottles from the conveyor via a vacuum and suction cup type device and places them in a case. One case of beer “ready to go”. “There are hundreds of lube points on this machine. And you can imagine that if we had to manually lubricate we would lose a lot of money because then, every hour we would have to interrupt the production”, says Allan Pedersen. In the time he said this, ten cases of beer were filled and ready to be picked up. An effective machine. “The lubrication system ensures a consistent and proper lubrication. The only task to really be done is to fill the system with grease. The rest runs on its own with the right quantity at the right time”, discovers Allan Pedersen happily. During our 10 minute discussion, almost 100 cases of beer were produced. To ensure such a production runs as a well oiled machine, a well functioning lubrication system is required.
