A course on confidence would be incomplete without mentioning willpower. Nothing would ever be accomplished without willpower. However, sometimes we have pockets of time when we don’t (here it comes again) feel like doing something. Whatever you’ve accomplished in your life has been because of willpower, the power of your will. When we speak about willpower (or a lack of it), we’re generally referring to when we cave into temptation. Look at the following statements. Do you find yourself ever using them?   

I can’t work on my side business … I’m too tired. I ate the cookie … because I’m stressed out. I skipped my workout … because I’m too busy. (But yet, you’re too tired to work on your side business?)

We could go on and on but you should begin to understand the importance of the "next steps" you designed in the previous lesson. You completely take the excuses (I’m too tired/lazy/stressed) out of the picture by focusing on small changes. The following interview is from the Rich Dad Radio show. In it, Robert and Kim interview Charles Duhigg, author of the New York Times bestseller “The Power of Habit.”

As we discussed in the previous lesson, we’re having you make small, incremental changes because we want you to limit the depletion of willpower as little as possible. Regardless of whether or not you feel like you have a lot of willpower, the fact of the matter doesn't change: Once your willpower is gone … it’s gone. What we want you to realize is that you’re going to have resistance every day. You’re going to get worn down. You will be tired, frustrated, upset, you name it. But by implementing smaller “next steps” you’ll slowly start to gain confidence to take on larger dreams.
