The University of Iowa Department of Intercollegiate Athletics ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY Assistant Swimming Coach – Two Positions The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for two (2) Assistant Swimming Coaches. These are full-time positions and include full University benefits. The successful candidates will assist the head coach in the management and coaching of an NCAA Division I men’s and women’s swimming program, recruit (domestic and international) as permitted by NCAA rules, conduct on-the-deck teaching and coaching, assist with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, camps, marketing, public relations), planning team practices, conducting individual workouts, and other duties as assigned. This position requires frequent travel, work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays, a valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards. Required qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required  Coaching and recruiting experience at the NCAA Division I level.  Extensive knowledge of and ability to: o Utilize basic office productivity software, such as Microsoft Office o Work constructively and collaboratively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.  A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards Preferred qualifications:  Competitive swimming experience at the NCAA Power Five Conference level.  Experience competing or coaching in the breaststroke or butterfly events at an elite level, such as Division I NCAA Championship, World Championship, or Olympic Trials highly preferred.  Demonstrated experience in international and domestic talent assessment and proven ability to successfully recruit elite level student-athletes.  Demonstrates working proficiency and ability to:

Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through public speaking, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques.
