REFLECTIONS… Randy Roper Happy 4th of July! As our country celebrates its freedom this week, we reflect on the many liberties afforded to us through the commitment and sacrifice of so many. But first and foremost, as “citizens of heaven,” we reflect on and give thanks for the freedom we have in Christ. Through Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection, God has set us free from sin and death. We have been liberated! Now we live with gratitude and to honor the One who sacrificed so much for our eternal freedom. It is so inspiring and encouraging to see so many in this congregation going on mission trips this summer. Literally hundreds of adults, teens and children are answering God’s call to “GO” into the world to embody and share the good news of Jesus. Of course, many, many more here are joining together to support and send out these mission trips. Our prayer is that God would be glorified and that His light would shine on the world through us. Speaking of reaching people, Vacation Bible School (July 16-19) is one of our biggest community events. Find a way to get involved in VBS this year and let God use you to “CONNECT” with others.
