THE OCEANPORT SPORTS FOUNDATION The Foundation was established in 2002 by fourteen community minded individuals who wanted to improve the Borough of Oceanport’s athletic fields and facilities. Since its inception, the Oceanport Sports Foundation has been committed to improving the quality of youth recreational sports within the Borough of Oceanport. Fundraising by the OSF members has had an appreciable impact upon the recreational facilities enjoyed by the residents of Oceanport. When the 2007 Breeders Cup World Championships came to Monmouth Park Race Track, the OSF hosted a Charity Polo Match as part of the Breeders Cup Fan Fest Events...followed by a second Charity Polo match in 2008. As a by-product of these two events, the soccer fields at Maria Gatta Park were given a much needed makeover. The fields at Maria Gatta Park to this day are in far better condition due to the joint efforts of our own Department of Public Works and the many volunteers of the Sports Foundation and its corporate sponsors. Since its inception, The Oceanport Sports Foundation has provided grant funding in an amount approaching $100,000 to a variety of programs and organizations within the Borough of Oceanport. Tonight’s Holiday Wine and Food Tasting Festival is a success because of the support of people like you. The Oceanport Sports Foundation would like to thank everyone for attending tonight’s Third Annual gala and we hope to see you at future OSF events. The Oceanport Sports Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, registered with the State of New Jersey as a charitable entity, and is permitted to solicit funds in the State of New Jersey. If anyone is interested in volunteering some time and joining the OSF, please contact one of our members and let them know. Your generous donations have helped support several projects and organizations within our community. To name a few, the Oceanport Sports Foundation funds have been used to: Purchase and install new scoreboards for the Oceanport Basketball Association Build a new basketball court at the Community Center Purchase new soccer goals at Blackberry Bay Park Help build new baseball dugouts at the Community Center. Install safety equipment at the Wolf Hill baseball field and Maple Place Basketball Court Rebuild the Roller Hockey rink at Blackberry Bay Park Help renovate of the soccer fields at Maria Gatta Park Purchase a New clock for the Wrestling Program Provide Donations to The Courtney Rose Foundation Provide Donations towards the rehabilitation of the Old Wharf Building Install water fountains at Community Center & Blackberry Bay Park Install new, energy efficient lighting in the Maple Place gym Maintain the Maple Place Gym Floor for use by the Oceanport Basketball Association
