Focus: Writing multiple sentences • Write several sentences to paint a picture in the reader’s mind. • Using correct capitalization, spacing between words, and punctuation. • Letters written correctly.

Please respond to this email to let me know that you are receiving my emails and are reading the weekly newsletters. I include important information in the weekly newsletters and want to make sure I have all parents reading them weekly. I will have a prize for each student who has a parent respond to my email by Monday! Your child will begin bringing home a reading textbook a few nights each week. Your child will know which story to read each night. Please write the title of the story on the reading calendar so that I know you and your child read it. If it is not written down, your child may have to stay in during last recess to read. It is important that the textbook be returned to school each day. We will use it during class and I do not have any extras. Starting in January, the weekly reading tests will begin being based on the texts that your child reads each week from the reading textbook. Thank you in advance for your support! This week’s stories are Clouds, Rain, Snow, and Ice on Wednesday and A Good Day for Kites on Thursday.
