Dear Parents, Guardians and Children, The preparations for the 140th Anniversary Dinner are well under way. It will be a great night of entertainment (by Paula and Jason Bennett), food and wonderful company. Thank you in advance to our P & F President, Lisa Scobie and all her willing volunteers for the work they have done in the lead up. Donations of Greenery Our P & F are asking for any donations of greenery such as birds of paradise, gingers, ferns etc that will be used to decorate the hall for our dinner. If parents can assist they are asked to drop off any donations to the front office tomorrow. P-3 Swimming Thank you to the many parents who have volunteered to assist with our P—3 swimming program. Sacred Space—Prayer Garden An exciting project has commenced this week. Our Specialist Art Teacher, Athena Costopoulos, has coordinated a project that will transform the area between the kindergarten and the prep rooms into a Sacred Space. We welcome Kate Carr who has been employed to plan and work with the students to create the artwork for this space. This area was earmarked as a prayer area when the plans for our extensive building project were developed back in 2008. Our students will be involved in the creation of mosaic and clay art pieces which will highlight the history of St Joseph’s, the surrounding environment and the Charisms of the St Joseph’s Sisters and the Mercy Sisters. Parents are invited to watch the progress of this site. For more information about this project, parents are invited to attend the next P & F Meeting on Tuesday 12th November. Thank you Again a big thank you to all our families for the patience they have shown during the work on our Kindergarten playground. This project is due for completion in November. Year 7 Graduation Bear and Ball (optional) A flyer is being sent home today with the Year 7 students about the option of purchasing a Graduation Bear or Ball. All orders and money need to be handed into the school office by Friday 1st November. Love God Love One Another Patrick Dempsey [email protected] Ph.: 0457785639
