 FINAL 2015 HYDRILLA TRAINING CRUISE! THURSDAY OCTOBER 1, 2015 

Two Season-End Hydrilla Volunteer Thank You & Public Info Meetings  Winter is coming…Hemlock Wooly Adelgid Film & Discussion

HYDRILLA VERTICILLATA, a highly invasive plant that has radically impacted the fisheries, recreation and appearance of waterways around the country, was discovered in Ithaca’s Cayuga Inlet in 2011. Eradication efforts are underway, but small patches of hydrilla have been found, and removed, from the southern end of the lake. During 2015 it is critical that any new infestations be spotted and removed rapidly.

The Cayuga Lake Floating Classroom is offering its last FREE hydrilla training class of the season: Thursday October 1 from 4-6 PM, leaving from Long Point State Park (just south of Aurora, NY).

Cruise includes:  Information on hydrilla and free plant ID books  Hands-on training for aquatic plant monitoring Access to the Hydrilla Hunters network and information about the state of our lakes
