Timeline of Events - September 2015 - August 2016 September 9, 2015 Triangle Architectural Review Committee Meeting (Landmarks) The plan was approved with conditions: Keep the Historic Courtenay House Garage. Keep the “California” drive along Glenmary Avenue. Add additional trees even though the plan meets the required tree canopy. September 21, 2015 Building Ordinance & Zoning Adjustment (BOZA) Meeting One (1) variance and two (2) waivers were approved. Cherokee Triangle Association Meeting (CTA) After the CTA regular monthly meeting, held at Collegiate, Dr. Calleroz White presented the most recent plans and renderings to the association. While a few questions were asked, everyone was very supportive. Dr. Calleroz White promised to keep the neighbors informed going forward. December 1-15, 2015 Temporary Adaptation of Burger’s Collegiate and Wehr Constructors, the Construction Manager (CM), are sharing space at Burger’s for storage and for construction offices respectively. During construction, Burger’s lot will be reserved for the construction team. No permanent changes will be made to the building at this time. January 13, 2016 Project Approval The Board of Trustees approved the construction budget and an immediate start date. January 15, 2016 - March 31, 2016 Construction Entrance off Ray Avenue Locating the construction entrance off Ray Avenue minimizes the impact on carpool and the neighborhood and enhances construction efficiency. This entrance provides access to central campus, enabling the work to proceed from the inside out. When the project concludes, this construction entrance becomes a permanent service lane, moving most truck deliveries from Glenmary Avenue to Ray Avenue – another benefit to the neighborhood. Construction Fencing Installing the construction fence across the back of the four houses off the corner of Glenmary and Ray eliminates egress from the rear of those houses during construction with the exception of emergencies. Access to the campus field is at the Grinstead Circle entrance or through the Upper School, due to the construction fence around the gravel lot by the Middle School. Demolition

Demolition of the deck and other modifications to the back of the Advancement/Business House make room for the construction entrance and later the service lane. January 25, 2016 Junior Kindergarten JK students are dropped off and picked up from the carpool line in the Lower School. The JK playground is packed up for relocation, again making room for the construction entrance and later the service lane. February 1, 2016 - February 29, 2016 Current Library The current library goes offline. Over the next 17 school days, the librarians will be packing, moving and setting up the interim libraries. March 1, 2016 Interim Libraries The two interim libraries are open. The Lower School Library is located in the top level of the Middle School and the Middle/Upper School Library in the lower level of the Upper School. March 31, 2016 - April 29, 2016 Current Dining Room and Kitchen The current dining room and kitchen go offline. During Spring Break, the transition for food service and dining is made in preparation for the students’ return on April 11. Auditorium The Auditorium is taken offline for fine arts performances and special events and is transformed into the interim dining room until May 2017. Demolition The current library, kitchen, and dining room annex are demolished. May 5, 2016 Groundbreaking Ceremony This year’s running of the Kindergarten Derby is topped off with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Second Century Construction Project. The entire student body is joined by parents, alumni, donors and other community members to celebrate this milestone event. May 6, 2016 - May 31, 2016 Sitework The first of two detention basins is installed; this one located between the Lower School and the Courtenay House. The site for the Dan and Frances Street Learning Commons is prepared and tested, the foundations excavated, the footings poured and underground utilities roughed in. June 2016 - August 2016 Structural

The slab for the Dan and Frances Street Learning Commons is poured. A giant crane is assembled and the structural steel is put into place for the first and second floors. Installation of the metal deck on the second floor and bar joists and roof deck is completed. Both the second floor and roof slabs are poured. Renovation The renovation of the Schubert Family Advancement / Business House is complete. This work was required to make way for the construction entrance, which will a permanent service lane when construction is complete. The old dining room is transformed into the Design Studio and Barzun Family Makery. The Design Studio will not be fully functional until August 2017. In the interim, this space will serve as an interim dining room annex. Since the Middle School will be located between the two buildings under construction, this summer allows workers to have free rein in preparing the various connections between the Middle School and the new buildings. With the elimination of the rear entrance ramp into the Middle School, a lift is also installed. Probably the most difficult engineering feats of this project is the installation of an 11,000-pound steel beam in the third floor hallway that will connect the buildings. Sitework The site of the Thornton Family Dining Commons is prepared and tested, the foundations excavated, the footings poured and underground utilities roughed in. The walls of the threestory elevator are built.
