Repent, then, turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. ~ Acts 3:19
Times of Refreshing Times of refreshing from the Lord—that is how I would describe the ministry time together with the New Life Team from Virginia Beach. The team’s coming coincided with the Pentecost weekend (amazing timing). Over these last couple of months, a real tangible sense of divine grace has been present in the church that we are helping to revitalize. Not long ago, something shifted during the Worship time and, since then, we’ve had a real awareness of God’s manifest presence. That new found freedom in worship together with the team from New Life, who had come to host a one-day conference on the Supernatural and leading people in worship, propelled us into a new powerful move of God’s Spirit. The people in the church were once again refreshed and drawn closer to Jesus. It is so true; in God’s presence, there is fullness of joy. Increasingly, we are seeing the need for a people in Germany who are willing to contend in prayer and be carriers of revival in Germany and Europe. I am convinced: God wants to rain down righteousness and liberty from bondage in the land (Hosea 10:12), and He is looking for a people to pray and act. The following weekend the team and I (Brian) were in Zandaam, Holland, just outside of Amsterdam, with Pastor Jan Barendse. Once again, the Lord graced us with his presence and touched hearts. The church was refreshed and encouraged. Jesus is the hope to an ailing and broken world. We, the church, are the present representation of that hope. Through powerful moments of worship, dynamic relationships and reaching out, people experience the power of the Spirit— churches can be renewed and cities transformed. We are asking the Lord for a Second Reformation. This is not an overnight process—this requires contending both in prayer and through intentional evangelism. Would you stand with us in prayer and ask the Lord for a second reformation throughout this land?

Youth Conference in Menden, Germany Brian had the opportunity to be the key speaker at youth conference in the northern part of Germany, not far from Dortmund. Throughout the weekend, the young people were responding to the word and were becoming increasingly passionate in worship. No doubt, this current generation is key to what God is wanting to birth here in the church. I see a hunger and desperation to be used by the Lord. This next Reformation needs young and old alike, standing together to reach a nation. As we are praying about new church planting projects, I am asking the Lord how to reach, connect, and mobilize this younger generation. They are looking for spiritual mentors who will love them and challenge them to radical discipleship.
Italy – family, food, fellowship, fun AND lots of ministry! For some time, we have needed a little break to catch our breath—even missionaries. We all know that taking some time off is key to keeping our health, balance, family life and renewing our creativity. We were blessed to be able to participate in a Missionary retreat and outreach in the Naples area of Italy early June. It was a wonderful time of reconnecting to some old ministry friends from different parts of the world—some we had not seen in 10 years! The time was SO NEEDED and so encouraging for us as we heard and shared stories. Janine’s parents, who are the leaders of the World Outreach Center, organized the retreat and ministered to the missionaries, so it was also a wonderful time of fellowshipping with them, and of course our kiddos were ecstatic to see their grandparents. Aside from fellowshipping and eating amazing food (to be expected of course in Italy), we also had the opportunity to minister in different capacities. I was asked to preach at a baptismal service for 30 Italians on the coast. It was a wonderful morning: a few attending made decisions to become Christ-Followers, and I enjoyed a 6 or 7 course meal afterwards—oh yeah. Our kids bonded with other missionary children, and the women were really able to minister one to another. It was such a special time for us! It was a wonderful and special time. Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for strength as we are traveling through many states on the east Coast during our visit to the States 2. Pray for continued growth both in maturity and numbers of the congregation that we are leading. God continues to work, but we need to have greater opportunity to serve our city and bless our community. 3. Pray for a release of the supernatural power of God. Because of Germany’s history and cultural hard wiring, they tend to be very skeptical and critical, but the younger generation seems to be more open for something new. 4. Pray for 3 Church planters that we are mentoring right now.
“I have but one passion: It is He; it is He alone. The world is the field and the field is the world; and henceforth that country shall be my home where I can be most used in winning souls for Christ.” ~ Ludwig Von Zinzendorf, Herrnhut
In 1722, the weathly Count Zinzendorf, used his personal land and finances to provide a safe haven for Christians fleeing persecution. After a season of disagreements, they came together in a spirit of reconciliation and unity, in 1727 experienced a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in the Herrnhut Community. They began praying and worshipping 24/7 in shifts in their own homes and held a 100 year non-stop prayer movement that launched hundreds of missionaries into the world. The “Moravian Prayer and Missions Movement” has impacted the entire world and missions everywhere. As I, Janine, visited this historical and spiritual place, I was incredibly overwhelmed with a sense of deep gratitude and strong calling that I am a product of Herrnhut, the Moravians and Count Zinzendoft to the nations. I wept and wept as I felt God’s heart for the people who have yet to know Him as loving Father, compassionate Healer and wonderful Savior. And I wept for those called to the mission field who will give their lives for others. I wept--calling forth more missionaries to the fields. Let God give you a heart for those who are in need of His great love and salvation. You carry it! *Some of the information was take from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moravian_Church
