Slide your tulle from one edge to the other, gathering in an accordion fashion in the center between the pointed edges
Hold tightly between two fingers and wrap your wire around the center …very tightly and twist several times to hold/ wrap the wire to the other side and twist tightly a few more times

Step 3: Texture ends (optional)
You may leave the pointed ends as they are or I prefer to add some character to them by one of two methods Method 1: Pull on each point with your thumb and fingernail from the center out drag your fingernail across it to the end as you pull slightly….this will stretch and curl the ends slightly ( be careful not to pull too hard and rip the point off) this can happen a couple of times and still not affect the look of the bow.

Method 2: Heat and curl: Use a candle that is in a cup/ jar or candle holder : You will be using the heat of the candle NOT the flame. Hold one or two straight points over the heat of the candle and wait and watch carefully for it to shrink a bit and curl. ( hold the side down to the flame that you want to show so it will curl in the right direction) Move the points closer to the heat source as necessary….but, it may take a few seconds to curl so don’t get over anxious and move it closer and melt the whole point. ( practice with extra tulle to get this technique down)

hot glue the knot to the center of the bow press to seal

Hot glue ends down
Step 5: Attach HairClip of choice Slip an alligator clip through the back under the ribbon
You may hot glue the bow to a clip of your choice if you prefer another type of clip. For lasting power use the adhesive E-6000 vs. hot glue. But hot glue can work ok on this light weight bow
This Bow is Super Fast and Easy to Make: You will want to make these for presents and gifts: These are so light weight that they would work great attached to a headband for an infant, baby or toddler. Other Version BELOW: Pattern to cut your spikes with:

Version 2: Ends textured with the heat curl method 2:/ the purple is 5.5” wide tulle and green is 5” wide. Green version was wrapped with 3 layers of textured yarn ( Fun Fur) vs. ribbon ( I buy this yarn at the dollar store for $1.50 a roll) and tie a double knot and trim ends/ attach alligator clip under the yarn wrap in the back

Version 3: Ends were textured with the heat & curl method 2 / 3 lengths of dangly yarn was placed across the center horizontally and hot glued in place. Ribbon was then knotted and wrapped around the entire bow in the center like in version one and as demonstrated

Version 4: Attach Jewelry to the center of the bow/ Layer over accent Yarn as desired. The heart is an old earing that has lost its mate…. I used old scissors to trim the post off. I like to attach jewelry to Hairbows with a stronger adhesive like E-6000 (available at craft or hardware stores)…. You have to wait a few hours for it to dry. Wrap a thin ribbon the same color around the center before attaching jewelry so you will have a spot for your alligator hairclip to slip through. The Black bow seen below used a jewelry embellishment purchased in the jewelry aisle of the craft store/ Both bows used heat curl method to texture ends.
