TINLEY PARK KNIGHTS WINTER FOOTBALL ACADEMY SCHEDULE 4 Sessions TUESDAYS - 4th-8th GRADE BOYS March 6th (6:00pm-7:30pm) March 13th (6:00pm-7:30pm) March 20th (6:00pm-7:30pm) March 27th (6:00pm-7:30pm) *All camp sessions are ONLY open to 4th-8th Grade boys currently enrolled at the Tinley Park campus of Southwest Chicago Christian Schools. Missed sessions cannot be made up.

SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS AS A YOUTH PLAYER OR SIMPLY GET INTRODUCED TO THE BASIC FUNDAMENTALS OF KNIGHT FOOTBALL. The 2018 Tinley Park Knights WINTER FOOTBALL ACADEMY is a fun experience designed to provide young men who attend the SCCS Tinley Park Campus with an opportunity to learn safe and effective techniques for the sport of football in a non-contact environment that includes drills for football fundamentals, speed, agility, & strength, character coaching, and fun competitions. Under the guidance of Knight Youth Football Coach Terry Whalen, as well as current Chicago Christian High School players & coaches, academy participants will learn valuable lessons about how to make improvements in the game of football, through instruction on the following topics:
Throwing, Catching, and Blocking How to Keep the Head Out of Tackling Fundamentals for Becoming Leaders with Championship Character How to Improve Strength, Speed, Agility, and Quickness on the Field
The academy is offered to boys who are currently in 4th-8th grade at the SCCS Tinley Park Campus. The academy is designed to provide age-appropriate training for athletic performance regardless of experience with the game of football. We will help your young athlete to develop their physical abilities and athleticism in a way that is safe, well-planned out, and fun!

GET TO KNOW CAMP COORDINATOR - Coach Terry Whalen Greetings Knight Football Families! I am very excited to introduce you to the director of this academy and our new COORDINATOR of KNIGHT YOUTH FOOTBALL, coach Terry Whalen. Coach Whalen is very passionate about using the sport of football to honor God, share His gospel message, and to develop young men who are leaders according to God’s plan. Coach Whalen comes to us with coaching experiences that include time with the Tinley Park Bulldogs, Kishwaukee Youth Football, and Sycamore High School. Coach Whalen has also worked with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chicago, and recently finished a 33 year career as an Electrical Engineer with ComEd where he provided leadership while managing many departments and mentoring young engineers. Through this WINTER FOOTBALL ACADEMY boys in grades 4 - 8 will learn basic football skills with an emphasis on safety & fun. Academy participants will begin to learn THE KNIGHT WAY of doing football through techniques that are consistent with what is taught within the football program at Chicago Christian High School, and that includes guest instruction from high school coaches & volunteer high school players serving as mentors. Whether your son has prior youth football experience or is just exploring the sport, the 2018 WINTER FOOTBALL ACADEMY will teach football skills and techniques that are age appropriate, safe, and that follow a methodical approach to teaching the game that helps young men to become Christ-like leaders. My own son will be participating - Come and join us on Tuesday nights in March!
