To: Chiefs FC Families Re: Financial Assistance Chiefs FC offers financial assistance to families (applicants) who demonstrate financial need to help defray the cost to train and play soccer at Chiefs FC. The Financial Assistance program is administered by our Financial Aid Committee. The Financial Aid Committee will review the applications for assistance and determine if financial assistance is awarded to the family. To be considered for financial assistance, certain documentation and deadlines MUST be met. Parents need to submit the Chiefs FC Financial Assistance Application and a signed copy of their IRS Tax Transcript for the 2015 tax year, most recent tax return, W2 or copies of their two most recent pay stubs. If you do not submit the Chiefs FC Financial Assistance Application and the supporting income verification by the deadline, you will not be considered for financial assistance for the 2017-2018 soccer season. Deadline and Decisions: The deadline for submitting financial aid documents, for current Chiefs players, is May 15, 2017. The deadline for submitting financial aid documents, for new players, is Wednesday of the week of tryouts, at 6:00pm. Decisions regarding financial aid will be made and communicated to applicants as soon as possible. As you know, we are a volunteer based organization and the tasks of running the club are many. To that end, we may request financial aid applicants to provide volunteer hours in exchange for financial assistance. We view financial aid as a serious commitment on the part of the club to your family and expect that you view it in a similar manner. There are limits to what the financial assistance will cover. They are applicable ONLY toward the costs of player registration/training fees and do not cover: coaching expenses, uniforms, camps or tournaments. Assistance will not, in any case, cover the entire cost. IF a family is awarded financial assistance this will be applied to the player registration fees after the signing period. All families receiving a financial aid award will have to pay a minimum amount of $300 at signing date. The remaining balance must be paid in monthly installments. Chiefs FC does have a No Pay, No Play Policy. Monthly payments must be kept up to date in order for players to continue to practice and play games. This assistance policy is intended to keep the commitment Chiefs FC has made regarding leaving no child “on the sideline”, while making sure that we continue as good stewards of the club’s financial resources.
