GENERAL: 1) This is a USBC Certified Tournament and is considered an “Amateur” event in which all USBC Rules not specified here will be in effect. Courtesy to other bowlers is expected and will be enforced. Rude, loud, or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. 2) All bowlers are required to be sanctioned in the Miami Valley USBC. 3) Eligible bowlers must have either of the following:  A current Miami Valley USBC card or cross over card with an eligible 2016-2017 Miami Valley USBC yearbook average.  A current Miami Valley USBC card with 21 games or more in a single Miami Valley League in the 2017-2018 season before Feb 1, 2018.  A cross over card with 21 games or more in a single Miami Valley League in the 20172018 season before Feb 1, 2018. 4) Cross over cards will not be sold to bowlers who are members of another bowling association. Bowlers living within the boundaries of the Miami Valley Bowling Association and do not bowl in another association may purchase a USBC sanction card. 5) Team captains must present team line up 30 minutes prior to scheduled time of bowling. Only team captains must check in their team and are responsible to complete the entry form and make changes. 6) Any entry not filled out completely will not be accepted. 7) Nicknames will not be accepted on the entry form. Name used on the entry form must match the name on the bowler’s USBC sanction card. 8) Bowler ID must be supplied on the entry form. 9) Re-entries will be allowed for team, doubles and singles. Please note MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION below. DIVISIONS:  Regular: Any sex and any age are eligible to bowl  Senior: Each bowler must be 50 years of age or older as of Feb 1, 2018 10) PRIZES: Will be awarded for each division with at least 1 prize for every 7 entries. All prize fees will be returned 100%. AVERAGES: 11) Average used shall be entrants highest USBC Sanctioned 2016-2017 Winter League Average, based on a minimum of 21 games. If no Winter League Average, the highest USBC Sanctioned 2016-2017 Summer League Average, based on a minimum of 21 games may be used. If no 21 game average is available from last year’s average book, the highest USBC league average at time of bowling will be used (21 game minimum). All others will bowl scratch. 12) An average which is 10 pins or more higher than the previous season’s average as of Feb 1, 2018 (21 game minimum) must use current average. 13) Averages used from sport or modified house shot must be declared at check in and will be rerated using the scale under USBC rule 202a. 14) Bowlers will be responsible for the correctness of their average. Failure to use the proper average, or make correction prior to the completion of the first game of series, shall disqualify score if submitted average is lower than actual average. See USBC RULES 319A-3. 15) The team captain’s submission of the entry form verifies all information to be correct as submitted. 16) The Board of Directors of the Miami Valley USBC – The Tournament Director or his designated representative reserve the right to change the rating of any bowler when there is evidence that his reported average does not represent his true ability See USBC Rule 319E. 17) Entry fee will be refunded if entrant(s) do not wish to participate after being notified of any adjustment. Only the doubles set or team affected is eligible for a refund.

HANDICAP: 18) Handicap will be calculated as 90% of X. If X is 0 or negative, handicap will be zero.  Team X = 1150 minus the total of bowlers’ averages  Doubles X = 460 minus the total of bowlers’ averages  Singles X = 230 minus the bowler’s average DECLARATIONS: 19) All bowlers are required to report at time of registration: a) Bowlers who have qualified for a prize of $600.00 or more, in any event in a tournament within the previous 12 month period must report the actual score, position and amount won for possible rating. See USBC Rule 3190. b) Any Bowler who reports a lower average or fails to report a prize of $600.00 or more shall forfeit tournament entry fees and prize winnings or base prize winnings on submitted average if it is higher. Tournament Play: 20) LANES WILL BE ASSIGNED BY THE TOURNAMENT OFFICE. 21) Oil pattern used will be the House League Pattern. 22) The tournament office will try to even up all squads. Groups requesting lanes together will be assigned first with individuals and walk-ins being assigned next available lanes. Should your assigned lanes require you to bowl alone, you must do so. Upon refusal to do so, no entry fee will be returned. 23) All games of each event will be bowled on the same pair of lanes. 24) The order in which the bowlers are listed on the entry form will be the official bowling order. No changing of bowlers between Team/Doubles sets or rearranging of the bowling order will be allowed after registration. 25) A bowler or bowlers arriving late will be allowed to bowl, however scoring will start with the frame in which they are ready to bowl. 26) Substitutions will be allowed. All substitutions must be reported to the tournament office at least 30 minutes prior to bowling and must assume the lineup position of the bowler they are replacing. 27) When a substitute enters an event already in progress, (not allowed for in Singles) the handicap for that set or event will be based on the original bowler's average or the substitute’s, whichever is higher. Substitutions will only be made in the event of injury. 28) All claims for an error in scoring must be made to a tournament official immediately. No changes in score will be made after the next bowler bowls. 29) If an automatic pinsetter or scorer has a breakdown, the tournament office has the right to move bowlers to other lanes and take whatever steps are necessary to continue play. In the case of irretrievable score loss, that game (not set) must be rebowled. 30) The tournament office has the right to weigh any ball after bowling. If the ball is found to be illegal, this will disqualify the bowler, all scores, and no refunds will be made. 31) Premature termination of the tournament brought on by war, national emergency, or emergencies relating to fire, strikes, labor difficulties or other reasons beyond the control of the bowling center shall cause the foregoing prize list to be prorated in accordance to the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events at the time of termination. 32) The Tournament Director and/or Tournament Committee have final say regarding all questions and/or disputes arising in the tournament MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION: 33) The scores bowled first in each event will go towards All Events. 34) No more than two bowlers defined as PBA Pro Bowlers may bowl together in the Team Event and one on the Doubles Event. 35) Bowlers may bowl Singles only or Doubles only. 36) A bowler may only cash once in the Singles Event, per USBC. 37) A bowler may cash in the Doubles Event as often as entered with a different partner. 38) A team may cash in the Team Event as often as entered when changing two bowlers. FEE BREAKDOWN: 39) $20 per event per person. 40) $9.00 for lineage, $1.00 for expenses, $10.00 for prize fund.
